Markets are all controlled by hobos and monks running shadow networks using fund managers like blackrock/vanguard/fidelity and financial institutions as proxy to throw us all off and keep us in their shell game. Think about it. Hobos know the state of human behavior extremely well from direct observation. Monks are in connection with the spiritual realm and are in tune with human condition to manipulate our behavior. We've been fooled. Guys like larry fink or jerome are just minimum wage janitors and there is a sense of fear in their eyes and voice in public like they could be fired at any moment and their wealth garnished from the shadows.

Leddit? never used except for when I played WoW eons ago. I go by gut feel and looking at recurrences in the line graph. We live in a society, people have habits like work, rest and also stuff like contract expiration or renewal. I trust the recurrences more than I trust rumors from socials. How much did I make? nothing yet. I just got my wagie reward for the past month and I want it to be my last. I will prove biz wrong and become a trillionaire, and I'll use the money to create the Earth Defense Force (EDF). It'll be an army made entirely of AI driven drones, mostly for outer space warfare.

It will go up to 10-12 on opening tomorrow within the first 20 minutes then stabilize around 7-8 for the rest of the day with a slight decline (maybe 6-7 by closing time) but it will continue with a growing trend of 8-12% a day until next Friday and possibly until September when FDA either approves or declines their submission. Don't hold, it's not for long-term because a new whale like BTIG can hop on the train and derail it. It'll be good for opening profit only, you might be able to double your investment by the end of the week.

I read it and they just said that they foresee less than 2 rate cuts this year, which probably means a rate cut in September. Also, the ECB thinks they will cut rates earlier than they thought before - which is a good sign. I don't foresee rate raises, especially not before an election. Inflation is still hot, but very slowly coming down. We will know a lot more on friday when the pce numbers are released

Oof. Have fun with it. This thread will probably still be up on Friday, so we can see if you were right or not. 8-12% per day for a week is a lot and would put it up pretty high - highest since 2022

>> No.58532483

>>58532468
Oh I read that too but it was 12 among like 90 patients and only like 3 of them had their life in actual danger. Yes it's definitely a lot for the average hospital to burden such a 10% negative response but it's still only an initial trial phase right now so there's plenty of room for improvement.

I don't think /smg/ is doing so bad that this thread would be still up on Friday though and if my theory is even close to the actual trend starting tomorrow I think more people will keep an eye on it and post their findings and opinions. I will surely keep bumping since I'm on leave and I'm basically quitting my job, got another juicy paycheck coming on the 15th and no more work, maybe once a week just because they have literally nobody else and I'd feel bad if I refused.

Cool I like you.

My strategy is I scan the entire marketspace with a python script and look for certain signs like consistent high ROIC. Then I validate that they're actually profitable and compounding over time. I ignore dividends or hype, although I do check stockcircle to see what "superinvestors" think of them. If I see a lot of smart money piling in, it's a moderate green flag for me. If they're exiting, it's a strong red flag that there's something I don't know.

>> No.58532953

>>58532798
Isn't that similar to how BTC is growing? in this very specific case there's hype for the FDA's decision. Remember when people were expecting SEC to approve Bitcoin a year ago? the hype was real and had it gotten approved then the value would've skyrocketed because every granny and her dog would've head about it for the first time but they refused and it tanked (https://www.ft.com/content/8c8444b8-0020-4064-87e7-385915944cc2)), then nothing major happened and it just kept growing back.

I doubt VSTM is gonna run into another issue before September. There isn't really anyone targeting this stock right now, it's all up to Verastem's efforts until the judgement day (it's expected in September even if it's not confirmed).

>sell when it normalises
Personally I wouldn't do that, I'd just profit from the daily spikes and close the position every day after making a net 20% or even 10% if it's a bad day. If you start with 1000 you'd find yourself with 2000 in 4 days at 20% daily profit, and over 20k in a month. You just gotta find the stock that has it's recurring spikes, be it at opening or another time of the day (usually the opening).

Hi /smg/, does anyone have experience or insights on writing 'covered call spreads'? That is, writing call credit spreads while also holding the underlying stock. I've already mathed it out myself and it seems like a decent way to limit my downside risk while not sacrificing too much upside considering I'm holding a bunch of spy shares nowadays. Just wondering if anyone here has tried this strategy before and prefers it in lieu of simply holding shares normally.

Thanks

But yesterday I got a warned that if I sold what I bought in the morning then I'd be flagged as PDT. I get that once you exceed 3 days trades in 5 days you get flagged. >15 minute posting rule
Yes. If you get flagged for day trading you will need 25k in your account in order to continue day trading. If you don't have the 25k, depending on your broker, they will enforce a restriction on your trades, limiting you to only being able to sell what you buy T+3 days after. So if you get flagged and buy something now, you wouldn't be able to sell it until 3 days later (weekends not included) UNLESS you have 25k in the account.

Pros: You are forced to hold a bit longer, curbing reactionary trading
Cons: You aren't able to quickly flip.

Man, looking at the way you discuss stocks here, it makes me unironically pity /biz/ users for being born retarded.

Like, I saw a thread discussing
>When do I sell??? I'm worried
Without a single mention of hedging and risk management, and when I look in this thread's stickies for "basic risk management", not only is the only advice it has horrifically simpleton stuff like
>Don't invest too much money :^)
It doesn't even cover essential basics such as using options or futures as a potential backstop against price moves like those which would protect retards getting into these purportedly massive 6-or-7 figure investments they insist are going to the moon. Like, the information contained here is SO THOROUGHLY unsophisticated that /biz/, in what appears to be its most sophisticated thread that seeks to educate, don't even make it to the end of chapter 1 of Hull covering the absolute bottom-barrel fundamentals of portfolio risk management.

Anyone on /biz/ is a lamb to the financial slaughter, and I pity any of you that put your money into speculative investments suggested by people who provably have never even skimmed a book on these topics or people who are explicitly preying on your naivete.

Not if your goal is maximizing return while minimizing risk. Pretty much any greedy speculator who did even a modicum of portfolio risk management with puts while GME rode its waterslide to hell from its 2021 peak even after fees generally did 2-5x better than the bagholders currently celebrating its recent dead cat bounce. You can be greedy and still cover your

Retards here complain about hedgies everyday and yet don't even have the spare brain-cell to learn the absolute basic basics of what they're doing, even when doing so would make them way more profitable long-term. It's bizarre.

Okay, economic brainlet here but someone give me a QRD on GICs. On my brokerage account they have these 30 day GICs at 4.15% interest. Now to my 400IQ brain this would mean I could take most of the money to my name about 110k CAD and say put 100k into these 30 day GICs and make 4.15% interest in 30 days when it matures? Am I missing something here? I could make 4150 CAD every 30 days doing nothing? That's close to what I make per month after tax. What is the catch here? a 4% return every month seems great to me, I know that this is a non-redeemable GIC so my funds are locked but it's only for 30 days. Maybe I can only buy this GIC once or every once in awhile I don't know....

Most of us here are ether newfags who just got into “investing/trading” or oldfags who come here to meme
>he doesn’t want to get rich quick
Most of the media portray investors/traders in an almost action movie scene - fast cars snorting cocaine through hundred dollar bills etc and its human nature to want to do nothing and make six figures within a month
If it was portrayed in reality with spreadsheets and brain numbing data analysis with realistic gains half of the market would shit the bed
>using options or futures
As with everything experience is key and everyone starts with extra chromosomes (I’ve spend first few years gambling on commodities with margin:) but they need to loose a shit ton of money to realise that for themselves if not each time they will double down harder

>let's get down to brass tacks, here's a few summaries of some no-bullshit basic approaches you can use to lock in gains or mitigate the damage unfavorable moves would cause you, their advantages and disadvantages, especially if you're normally a speculator, and some reading resources so you can learn more.

If you have better resources just ask for it to be included in the OP or make the next thread yourself and put them in there. personally I've traded for a few years and wouldn't read them anyway. Reading other people's ideas on how to trade feels like reading someone else telling me how to shower. Unless it's talking about things I have little idea of how they work like explaining different option trading strategies or some way of giving a better idea of how the Greeks work. Maybe even how to read a 10q or 10k or something.

Idk I haven't posted here in a while but we used to get 3 to 5 threads a day. Seems like the place has been dead for sometime for some reason. But when I posted more there were quite a few people with far more knowledge of options and how to invest than myself. Even people who traded other things like forex or futures.

Plus there's different kinds of "traders" and there's a difference between trading and investing. But some "traders" rely on Technical Analysis while someone like you probably think it's nonsense
But that's a lot of rambling to say some of the posters I've seen here are millionaires or multi millionaires but even those guys will say nice job if you got 20% gains on 4fig or 5fig account

The first three chapters of Hull cover hedging as a concept decently comprehensively from the perspective of most traders here
>I have stocks and/or options and/or forex and/or crypto with so-and-so value, how and when could I better cover my downside risk trading these with dead simple strategies?

I pretty much wish I could inject the first three chapters of Hull into /biz/'s collective consciousness, because it's basically what they need. At least for anyone posting here, you mostly are just looking for dead simple strategies to lock in gains on your gambles without closing your positions, a brief discussion of margin so you know what you're getting into when entering hedges, and besides that you probably don't need to get THAT deep into much of the rest of finance to have a good footing in risk management if you're just planning to be an average speculating retard. Basically none of you give a shit about interest rates or bonds, are not gonna be capable of spicier risk management like continual and dynamic portfolio rebalancing, and shouldn't be touching any instrument much fancier than buying puts or calls or "settled in cash" style-futures common with currencies, metals, and indices - which is basically exactly what those chapters of Hull would give you.
