It will take off, maybe, but not any time soon. The current hype is around a coinbase smart wallet connection that may or may not lead to anything. People are spouting something about NDAs, but I think that's all bullshit. From what I gather, there were recent talks with a Coinbase growth team that may lead to Skybridge getting special attention as the smart wallet releases. Aviator might be used for bridging, but it seems strange that they won't go with a bigger project like Superbridge that has actual in-field testing. I guess Coinbase wants to use skybridge's ability to provide an interchain lp for low mc tokens? But there are holes to this, such as why not just use an already developed bridge and then swap as necessary since basechain fees are pretty much neglible?

Skybridge seems useful as a niche for low mc investors who need low-latency swaps to and from eth DIRECTLY from a specific token, i.e. trading bots. There are extra steps required with other bridges when swapping for low market cap base/eth tokens, but that doesn't necessarily mean that an entirely new bridge is required.

3) Superbridge is not owned by CoinBase and it even states on their page that talks about why they stopped using their own bridge that they want to support decentralization and developers. There are currently only 2 bridges that their bridge page navigates to, neither of which can bridge ANY erc-20 and erc-721 token with an option for Supersonic transfers to/from that bypass Optimism's 7-day delay.
