Which allows for the system to tag assets with unique identifiers on every trade, now imagine if you will a merger of a company which has been nakedly shorted in a mixed consideration merger, where cash and equity is paid causing these positions to be forced closed. If after the dat of merger the positions are not closed and the new ticker is assigned Ed to the old CUSIP it means short positions carry over and the buy ins Co ti ue. In a traditional merger shorts get a period of notice. In a reverse or triangular merger it is announced and the completion 8k filing goes into the SEC on the same day. Shorts get no notice and will be forced by the DTC who have hooks into the trading desks which will be tracking all the GME shares under CAT meaning every single one will be forced closed on GME, DK-Butterfly and Teddy gets a massive run away share price on IPO, of which we are in at the ground floor.
