If you can’t follow this go on YouTube and figure it out. You are simply bridging from one layer of abstraction to another. ETH on ETH network is a different abstraction than ETH on Base so needs to be bridged and you need 2 wallets for these networks.

I can buy ETH on Base directly within coinbase wallet and then use the generic 'swap' function on the ETH, paste the ca for Bananas in and swap it directly like that, perhaps the routing it uses (I presume it just connects to uniswap) got temporarily fucked up, I swapped for some just before and it went through, not using any whole numbers just dollar amounts
