Instead of the current moderation system, /biz/ should implement the following:

Increase the number of janitors by 100x to improve moderation coverage.

Users who are banned can pay a $100 deposit to appeal their case.
If no janitor counters the appeal within 3 days by also paying $100, the user will be unbanned, and the janitor who issued the original ban will lose their janitor privileges.
If any janitor pays the counter-appeal, the case will be escalated to the third-party arbitration service Kleros.

If Kleros rules in favor of the user, the user will be unbanned, receive their $100 deposit back plus an additional $25, and the janitor who issued the ban will lose their janny privileges and thr janny who paid the counter appeal will lose their deposit.

If Kleros rules in favor of the janitor, the user will remain banned, lose their $100 deposit, and the janitor who paid the counter-appeal will receive $125 back (in both cases, Kleros receives $75 dollars from the losing side to pay for arbitration fees)

This proposed system offers several key benefits:

The appeal process and Kleros arbitration will make the moderation system more transparent and accountable.

Janitors will finally be able to earn money for their moderation work, which will incentivise them to perform their duties diligently.

The system will effectively remove bad janitors who abuse their privileges, while rewarding those who uphold the forum's rules.

By making the moderation process more fair and transparent, users will have more confidence in the /biz/ community and be less likely to face unfair bans.

Overall, this proposed moderation system aims to create a more balanced and equitable environment for the /biz/ forum, benefiting both users and janitors alike.
