Now we know why skelly hates chainlink so much. The combination of both ccip taking fees in link and eth being completely reliant on L2s for scaling resulting in a race to the bottom for eth fees. He thought Chainlink copied their model and twisted it unnecessarily, at the behest of the banks, in order to position themselves to control the emerging blockchain space. Of course he's right about Chainlink working for the banks, and about them doing a landgrab to position themselves to own the entire space. But decentralized on-chain-only price feeds can never be the solution because they lack the full market coverage of an oracle-based price feed. The lack of market coverage exposes one to economic attacks so his ideal solution could never have succeeded.
