It's never coming down. The high prices are because supply is so low. And people who already have houses and stock portfolios aren't really impacted by the prices increasing because their own assets have increased at the same pace. Only young first time buyers are getting screwed and even some of them will bite the bullet and sign up for a 30 year mortgage to pay down $350,0000 for a house that was $80,000 in the 1990s and is in way worse shape now.
