A lot of retail at a store like Dollar General is selling useless plastic shit and snacks to people will will throw it away in a day. Even mid tier clothing stores sell clothes people will not wear even once, or throw away after just a few months of using it.
The fact is that a lot of retail isn't needed. Its selling actual slop to retards who don't need it.
When both retail workers and customers realize the situation, they can mutually give up. Everyone I know realizes that Dollar General and Dollar Tree are trash, filled with trash, and not worth going to. All it takes is the workers realizing it too and they're fucked.
Most Dollar Generals are under minimially staffed. They have maybe one single worker to them, with an occasional person in there to try to stock shelves.

I know the markets are still doing pretty well, and in fact they're very close to their all time highs... but does anyone else here find yourself crying sometimes for no reason at all? Like... you're sitting there, reading some financial story or whatever, and then you suddenly feel very sad and your eyes start welling up. They definitely aren't tears of happiness or laughter, and they aren't allergies either (I take meds for that). This happens a few times a day.
Anyway, I was just curious if it's only me, thanks.

This isn't accurate, and I fucking hate retarded financial "reporters" who don't understand verification of automated processes.
These Indians were verifying that the system's automated checks were correct. That means the system says "They checked out with bread and milk", and some jeet checks the footage that tracked that person and says "Yup, they grabbed bread and milk" or "No, that's wrong, they got bread, milk, and a candy bar" and marks the error down.
Any errors are going to get taken and examined. Why did it error, is there a blind spot to the candy bars? Maybe they're too small and the system has difficulty with small objects? That sort of thing.
I suspect the real failure of Just Walk Out stuff is that it just isn't feasible to ACTUALLY have computers track all the shit people do to stuff at he store. They have to keep track of picking stuff up, putting it down literally anywhere in the store like some people do when they realize they got the wrong thing (or maybe a kid threw something in the basket), as well as super small objects like sticks of gum or tic-tacs. You have to account for blind spots in the store, and all sorts of ways people might pick items up (what if an old lady uses a grabber? Does the system recognize that?).
Just way too many moving parts, but what I can safely say is the system wasn't a fake simply using jeets looking over footage all day and noting what you bought and generating the receipt.
You might as well have said our automated testing at my job is rigged because we manually verify the test results sometimes. You have to in order to ensure the system is sane and doing its job correctly.

Do all the shopping on your phone, walk to store, scan QR code, box pops out with all your shit in it. I don't think the slight increase in theft from self checkout is anywhere near the loss of running all the compute and wrangling Jeets to actually be worth it, and I imagine they've built up enough footage that if they just need data to train AI tracking on that they already have enough for a lifetime.

Yeah on justetf.com you can filter on accumulation under "use of profit" and select your region of interest like US for SP500 or whatever.
Another optimization you may want to look into is if swap-based ETFs make sense for you over full replication/sampling.
Particularly ETFs heavily invested in US stocks can benefit from the exemption of US dividend witholding tax that they offer.
At the cost of being a more complex product with less transparency and marginally more risk.
FYI the FED has shown these synthetic ETFs are frequently >100% collateralized and EU requires >90% as per regulation.

Based and correct. You're ALREADY seeing this happen with pickup orders at places like Kroger. Why do we need to pay some dude to walk around the store with a cart and pick up my items when we could be making a hyper efficient bin and pick system in a warehouse, have THAT pick up all the order items, then bag them and prepare them for pickup (which could be humans, since robotic systems trying to bag items might fail to design a lot of context into account, such as heavy items crushing light items like bread or eggs).
I'm really surprised nobody has done this yet. Perhaps there's an aspect that I'm missing with that sort of model.

Hey baggie, how is it being rich and being a jew? Do the doors magically open up for you?

>> No.58281099

no. it was one possibility. but the very thin line indicates a very low probability of happening, and very likely not. the diamond bottom seems more probable - could still break down or test supports

That's one reason I don't do curbside pickup, aside from not being a lazy fatass. I prefer to pick out my own meats, veggies and such. Plus there's the pickup surcharge and you're expected to tip the person who brings your shit out to your car.

brought myself down with a shit NVDA trade, shorted far too early, pussyed out, and it closed on my breakeven anyways kek

Its more annoying buying items that say they're available on the site, I know for a fucking fact they're going to be in that store, then having the employee giving me the alternative or nothing at all because they were too lazy/stupid to find it.
Then I check inside the store and sure enough, the item is RIGHT THERE.
This wouldn't happen if robots were doing it.
Also, despite my bitching, I still almost exclusively use pickup orders because fuck going in the store for nigh on an hour to pick my shit up. Pick it for me, wagie.

My bad, they discontinued the pickup fee. Used to be $5. You can still pay extra to pick up your stuff faster though apparently. This is at HEB. But I still like to pick my own stuff and as mentioned I don't want some retard substituting stuff because they either can't find it or don't even know what it is.
