easy. think of an item you bought 10 years ago and check the price now. but keep in mind shrinkflation too. in my case I track inflation with kebab prices. 10 years ago a kebab cost 3 euros, now a kebab cost 9 or 10 euros. so kebab has become 3x or 300pct. then when you calculate the yearly inflation rate i thought it was like 11pct or something.
