As far as financial outlook and career prospects go, is industrial and manufacturing engineering a good collegiate major to pursue?

Depends how much of a chad and how smart you are. Industrial engineering is retarded unless you can rise up through the ranks and not get pigeonholed like a lot of engineers

No, but controls and robotics are, get an electrical engineering degree with a minor in computer science. You'll be able to do industrial and tech jobs.

Also I will note, controls and automation can suck if work for an integrator which most likely you would. But, you can easily make six figures, you will spend most of your life on the road, it's good to do it when you're young.

As you age though, try to move into plant job.

Anything outside of controls and automation in industry isn't worth it. Because controls can lead to software development or likely AI related jobs in the future.

electrical engineer is not a bad option. Nvidia will capitalize on agi and put it into a robot. They will need as many electrical engineers as possible
