They have functional brokerage to buy and sell GME, with 10 sec settlement, virtually no cost transfer, totally free of darkpools or nft funds, nothing, and this endorsed by GME. The ONLY thing missing is just coupling this with an actual deposit, either under their own control or under friendly control, such that their GME-NFTs are matched 1:1 by a real share.

I did not think move to tokenized markets would be so fast, its already here ffs. GME now has nuke button (practically same effect as a 100% DRS rate would have), to move 100% GME shares from cede, to a FTX-deposit or another deposit under friendly control. This is absolutely insane. Imagine all the IOU-havers in the world, trying to get into the portal of having an actual real share. They would have to shut down the markets for weeks due to the circuits closing, again and again. And then, we havent even started to mention the fact that a couple of bil, short GME stocks (not $), will need to be closed.

Considering just the cost savings of this year i'd expect the company to turn a profit of 150M for the next full year, and since the situation got dragged so long we might even have a console refresh cycle (like the PS4Pro/Slim kind of deal, or the new switch) to boost sales further. I see absolutely no reason to pull out now, especially if a dividend is pretty clearly on the table. The dividend(or buyback, or both) would be an easy way to bleed the shorts dry (or call it a day). Depending on the amount of shorts it could be viable or unviable.
This is why a combination of share buyback + dividend is possibly the best outcome: the buyback increases the ratio of fake shares against the total called X, and the dividend costs to the shorts (or Cede) X times what it costs to GME to issue it.
there will be a "max pain" type of situation, especially as dividends can be reinvested in the company. By issuing a dividend and having the investors continue buying the stock you're basically using leverage to increase short exposure

1) There's not much for a dividend. We're talking if they used all cash on hand a dividend of under $3 per share. Even if there are 4X as many shares out there that's not a lot of money for Cede.
2) Margins are razor thin, that cash is needed for flexibility and lean periods.
3) They'd be using cash that could be used for a buyback. You'd get more results out of the buyback.
4) A blockchain dividend would accomplish the goal infinitely better than cash.

i did concede that, but i also reinforced that if the price goes too low the money can be used for buyback, which will skew the ratio of fake to real shares. This means that there is no downside to GME anymore as if the price goes to low GME itself can do a buyback, and if the price remains low they can then release a dividend which will behave as a buyback with leverage. It is not the first route, but it is valid after enough shorting.
Let's say there are 75k fake shares (the declared amount) or there are 660k fake shares (the original sneeze short ratio). in both cases having a buyback at 7$ allows the company to buy 43M shares, so the number of shares remains 260M.
If the price is still looming at 7$ then it becomes sensible to deploy a dividend, because you already know that the owners of 76M DRS'd shares and the 36M RC ventures ones will reinvest, making the dividend come back as a buyback for at least 2/5 of the shares. The leveraged part means that it will become cheaper to just exit the position than it would to pay the dividends, creating a "rush to the fire door" situation. This scenario can happen for every profit as long as the company is undervalued
