Think of it this way, you want to sell 1000 eth for 1000x3000 USD, but instead sell everything in one go, the merchant takes your eth one by one, the first is sold for 3000, now the merchant has 3000 USD less but 1 eth more. In this transaction you changed the ratio of of the two assets in the pool, which alerts their relative value, so the next eth you give is worth less than 3000 now, the more you sell, the less you will get. The only way to mitigate this is if someone buys eth with dollars to rebalance the pool. The pool is high, it takes more to change the ratio significantly, this why low liquidity means volatility, hope this helps
