Reminder, only buy Monero to spend it. Hodl in BTC and swap as necessary, it's in and out.

What additional information is encoded in the price of a money by using it as a transactional media? Medium of Exchange is the most trivial function of Money as can be readily seen by the lack of any price premium from historical improvements in Medium of Exchange properties of Money.

The regulatory pressures are too high for XMR to survive. BTC has been accepted already and is going to take over the system from the inside. Some compliance is needed for those who desire it.

This. XMR is constantly bleeding sats while BTC is always pumping. Almost like there's a pattern...
They don't get BTC deprecates all other monetary systems and ALWAYS goes up.

Monero is useless and is for midwits. 99.999 percent of population does not and will never have the wealth to be the next John McAffee to live their monero larp lifestyle. I respect silver/gold coin stackers over monero holders cause it would be more practical then monero.

This. We will have KYC and custodial setups for the masses, but the maxis will always HODL and control their own keys. When monero inevitably goes to zero and isn't accepted you could just use Coinjoin if you need some optional privacy.

I don't see this happening but I do see monero dying out like chainlink or ethereum. What I was trying to get at was that monero holders are delusional thinking monero is worth holding or taking serious. They're not ultra rich where private transactions are useful for doing degenerate things. No one is going to pump their shitcoin and most normal ultra rich could care less about big private wealth holding. It's just us maxis and the rest of the scum non maxi shitcoiners seething at us on this board.

It is, BTC growth is exponential and at a large enough scale XMR is indeed going asymptotically to zero (kek, like its supposed non-existent inflation). That is if an inflation bug isn't discovered like it was in the past, then we don't even need a long timeframe.

Just use it for privacy and actually buying goods, but HODL in BTC only.

Use a centralised exchange like Coinbase that still has XMR if you need liquidity. The situation is not looking good for their liquidity, kek.

I got BTC on exchange. I’ve withdrew some. But not much, so from what I have heard you are tracable when you buy on exchange. So you can’t take 20000 and disappear it into a mixer then hodl it and not expect to be questioned about it later if there’s reasons for it to be seized. Example, lawsuit, bankruptcy. You got a record of BTC being purchased so it’s in your name even if it’s coinjoined and “disappeared” from your identity right? Not on the blockchain but anyone in the government can trace you mixing it. And ask. “Where is it?”. Also they want you to pay any and all taxes on BTC. Not really a problem for me I just report the tax I’m mainly happy it’s a currency they can’t inflate lol. But for small purchases like overstating and peer to peer tx how strict do you have to be with that? Say I coinjoin after withdraw or withdraw to wasabi wallet or something like 400$ and it rises in price a bit after some time then buy goods with it, they no longer can prove I’m buying stuff so do they go crazy about a person disappearing these small amounts and spending(at a profit) overtime? How much heat do you get from government using crypto the way it’s meant to be when buying on exchange?

Why do you need to send the BTC anywhere from your wallet? This is the part I don't understand.

>> No.58129701

>>58129562
Because you gotta use it like cash for it to be usable. So you withdraw to a private wallet. Cold storage ideally. And from there you can send it to people. Kind of like withdrawing cash from a bank then spending it peer to peer. Without having the big long nose tribe snooping in on every single tx. Bitcoin is designed to do this. Except it had some bugs. Transparent ledger. So everyone can trace all your coins. Making it more tracable than cash. Still ok for p2p stuff your just going to have to remember that if it comes from an exchange it’s tracable and has your identity tied to it. No big deal if your being a good goy.

That's a misconception. BTC's primary use is HODLing, i.e. a Store of Value. If you want to use anonymous digital cash, just swap some for XMR - in and out.

>> No.58129828

>>58129741
True. XMR is always the better option. But if all I’m doing is buying stuff online that i don’t care to be traced it’s usually straight withdraw to wallet then transfer to the vendor. Lots of places accept bitcoin. XMR would be if I wanted to buy weed.

Stop hoarding chromosomes. Those two coins have completely different hashing algorithms. Comparing hashing rates in such a case is completely meaningless.
