Let's take a break from the crypto and stocks.
Anyone here actually own a business anymore?

Anyone know anything about the septic/wastewater service business? I've heard is very lucrative, but I don't know anything about it beside poop.

>Business Owner
I thought this would be more fun than it is. Occasionally working 80 hour weeks, getting yelled at by a retarded boomer, babysitting employees
Here's a quick story
>employee is told to soak a mechanical part in rubbing alcohol
>for some reason she decides on her own that water will work just as well
>come in the next morning to a dozen parts ruined with rust
Why are employees so fucking stupid bros

I have customers in the industry, they're fucking rolling in it. Some of the nicest guys, and none of them ever ask for an estimate or even check the invoice before paying. Local market probably matters, you may need to be rural to be around a lucrative density of septic tanks

Small businesses really can't afford to hire femoids, anon.

She was a single mother of three, had the first at 15, and had only ever worked in restaurants. She quit just before peak season to work at a burger stand that didn't even have seating. Got what I deserved.
Another female employee (still employed) has a welding degree and grew up on a homestead, she kills it.

Thank you for the reply, anon. I am going to finish getting my PE and then start looking for a job with one of those companies.
My current company does big municipal wastewater work, and our margins are decent, 37%, but I don't see a lot of that personally.

She sounds based, good hire.

Season finally started, quickbooks says my profit for the year is $-6.00. So I've at least made more this year than a crypto guy

red flag

major red flag

red flag at half staff
What were you thinking anon? Did you at least bang her?

It seems like pure profit. I had the seller of my house pump the solids as part of the sale. The invoice was $250. About 6 years later I noticed the solid level was higher so figured I'd get it pumped. Called the same place (probably the only place around) and they quoted me $400 for a maintenance pump. I said it was $250 last time. The girl on the phone just said, oh ok. $250 then. Put a flag or something by the access for us, we'll have someone out tomorrow. Lol.

I'm guessing they just charge whatever they feel like because, who the fuck else are you going to call?

In areas where it's very rocky and properties won't perc, it's gotta be a killing as everyone is basically on a subscription service to get pumped all the time.

She was vouched for by the previous owner and I was desperate for anything

She was a decade my senior, no.

I have heard this from others as well. I wonder what the mortgage payment is on a sewer truck.

>starting a bizness
>dealing with all that bullshit
>99 percent chance you lose money anyways
>just buying and holding crypto with zero bullshit and make money doing nothing

I'd rather wagie and just stack bitcoin no thank you. I can't imagine how awful it is to be an entrepeneur these days when a well connected VC sh*tcoin funder makes more in one year selling the latest tech scam then a small business does in a lifetime.

I think the significant overhead would be the disposal aspect. Triaxles can run a long time.

I know a guy who owned several trailer parks and ran his own septic systems for them. In my state, you need to be liscenced to run a shit plant for multiple houses, the same as anyone operating a municipal facility. It's not just an occupational license either...it's a fair amount of study and testing with annual CEC requirements. I would think to build your own disposal facility (at least where I live) would require a lot of expensive engineers and state approval from pointless buerocrats, thus increasing the construction price significantly.

>wastewater plants require lots of licensing
I'm not surprised to learn that. My question is, would it be possible to pay a fee to the municipal plant and deliver it there?
There's got to be some kind of arrangement like that that's simpler than having to set up your own plant.

I have no idea but, sounds like you have a lot of market research ahead of you lol. If you can, find a local waste treatment employee and buy him some beers. You don't want to ask any future competition for advice.

hah. Entrepoonears are a joke. The meta is scamming in shitcoins and fucking off. Superwagies can enjoy the tax and regulation headaches. No wonder no one wants middle management work and would rather be a government leech wagie. Small biz founders are just internet jannies but lose money instead of make no money. Oof. Presidente Alexandria occasio cortez in 2029 will bankrupt your biz but go ahead and entrepooooonear.
