Pretty much. No one will sell cheap furniture secondhand because it looks awful after minimal use, so they quality of listings is higher. If you're willing to spend the extra time go to student housing areas in college towns around the end of the term. College kids have even less idea about how much things are worth and you can get nutso deals on their furniture.

Fbook marketplace, estate sales. Teak furniture from 50s 60s 70s is unmatched and timeless.

If your really serious, look at houses for sale built in 1940 to 1980. See a table, furniture contact realtor and ask him if boomer will sell it. I CAN COME PICK IT UP TODAY OR TOMORROW NO PROBLEM, I PAY CASH

Best bet is to filter for houses in those years above 1million, rich ppl dont care about losing furniture and will appreciate your seriousness and WANT to buy ASAP

Mid-century Danish
That's what you search for, season with the word "modern" wherever you want as well.
GOOD furniture, like guns, do not depreciate in value. Your house is a box to collect good things in and they make your house look nice when you sell it for more than it's worth, and you get to take the furniture with you.

It better be good quality if you're telling people to buy furniture that looks like it's taken right out of one of those 'home of the future' exhibits from the 1950s. This shit is positively retro, bro.
I own an encyclopedia of furniture and it is my understanding that the Danish modernist movement was heavily inspired by Bauhaus jews in the modernist era. Not really a fan desu.

The only issue with used furniture (and even appliances) is that if you could be bringing pests (cockroaches/termites/ants) into your residence. If you properly bomb or do w/e pre-reqs to avoid the pests then no problems and only positives, but many poors forget about this when buying used things.

Bug bombs and cleaning aren't going to save you if the furniture is infected with bed bugs. Even if you visually inspect the furniture thoroughly there could be eggs you can't see.

>>58099666
its a personal decision, furnishing its mostly aesthetic choice or to facilitate certain functions at a home like, instead of having to go out to wash your clothes, you can buy a washing machine and shit, if the air feels weird or you feel like something could occupy space and not be useless shit, you could buy plants (free oxygen baby), etc.
If it works for you as it is and don't have the need to change anything, it's alright

to answer your question: washing machine, microwave, oven, desk and bed. those are the most basic ones that cover the basic human necessities and modern ones.

aside from that, i have posters and figurine with extra money i have at hand thanks to my work and investing on some memecoins, like mumu and shit, but that's not a necessity

It's not a problem with hard furniture. You can visually inspect it well enough. Even with soft furniture, it should be obvious if you look in creases of fabric, underneath flaps, behind cushions and such. Bed bugs are sneaky but their colonies are obvious if you dig around.
If you're paranoid, you can use heat to kill them. Put anything which can be tumble dried in a dryer on high for half an hour. Put the rest in a closed space with a space heater and run it to 120F for 90 minutes. A car on a summer day will often get hotter than that. A bagged item on pavement in summer will easily clear the critical temp too. Adults and eggs both do not survive these conditions.
