I don't think they've released any specifics yet, but some people are posting screenshots of a few coins that you can buy directly from the CB wallet. Seems like a live beta test. I assume they're using aero for the dex. So the "app" will definitely be the CB wallet itself.
Idk if they have plans for a frontend sorta thing, but I'd think they'd at least want to make their own version of dexscreener just for base, so as not to confuse the normies too much. I'm pretty sure CB wallet has a built browser like most wallets, so it will probably just use that and there will be 1/2 click swaps from the wallet itself.

I'm trying to imagine how retardedly simple they need to make it to onboard all these CEX users and that's the best I can come up with. One button to swap between eth mainnet and base that auto opens their own version of dexscreener in the browser. A 1 click buy option that uses aero and auto slippage settings behind the scenes. It would likely be a heavily curated list and force all new coins to use Aero for maximum exposure. Thus: CB listing Aero so early.

Anyone web3 devs have some thoughts how they might do it? Didn't binance do something similar before?

Still to complicated.
The normie zoomer and boomer can't comprehend all the technology behind that. They want to have only one browser where they can trade FIAT for everything and a few trading pairs. That's the easy part tho.
The hard part will be to convince other cex to adapt it or build on it or offer base coins. Some smaller will probably to get more attention but binance...
And the question is if coombase even would want that or keep it as their exclusive "stockpile"
