There is no good answer for emergency funds. Either you maximize interest by investing it in Treasury Bills, but run the risk of potentially getting fucked waiting for funds to settle if you need the money right now. OR you put it in a boring savings account and have immediate access but lower interest.

It depends on your risk tolerance and what kind of emergency you could have. I think people underestimate a credit card as an emergency fund.

I don't believe in "good" companies. They're all scams headed up by liars and frauds hoping they get away with as much as possible before being found out. History is littered with supposedly good companies that subsequently declined and fell into inevitable bankruptcy and disrepute. The S&P doesn't reflect that since it's constantly refreshed but look through history at the best companies in every era then look where they are now. Not to mention ain't nobody got time for fundamental analysis. I'd say pick a technical trend following strategy and execute on that. Price is king. You'll get a lot further following its dictates than your own discretionary opinion of what constitutes "good" and "bad". Just my 2 cents you do you boo
