The market will crash for at least 8-10% the next 2 months. No idea why you guys think earnings matter. Just go into cash or hedge puts and then buy 2 beta stocks with options once the market corrects itself and it realizes we're not getting 2 rate cuts this year. It'll be 1 and much later than expected.

>Boeing aims to increase Black employees by 20%, CEO says in memo
>August 28, 2020
>SEATTLE (Reuters) - Boeing Co is seeking to increase Black U.S. employees throughout the company by 20% and mandate benchmarks for hiring people of color, Chief Executive Dave Calhoun told employees in a memo on Friday reviewed by Reuters.
>U.S. corporations have become more responsive to complaints related to racial equality following a summer of sweeping anti-racism protests over the slaying of Black people by police.
>The changes at Boeing, a stalwart defense contractor with its corporate headquarters in Chicago and largest factories in Washington state and South Carolina, appeared to mark the first concrete steps by the planemaker to address the issue.
>"We understand we have work to do," Calhoun said in the memo, which was released on the 57th anniversary of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr's "I Have a Dream" speech and included references to the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Wisconsin on Sunday.
>The planemaker separately has had to lay off thousands of workers as it grapples with the financial fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic and the 17-month-old grounding of the 737 MAX after two fatal crashes.
>In the memo, Calhoun said the company would establish an internal Racial Justice think-tank to guide its policies.
>On June 23, a manager at Boeing's Everett factory found "racist symbols" at his work station, according to an email from Commercial Airplanes Chief Executive Stan Deal to employees seen by Reuters. The manager is Black, a person familiar with the incident said.
>The company launched an internal investigation and referred the matter to police, Deal said, calling the incident "disheartening and a stark reminder of how far our society has to go."
>Boeing was also donating some $10 million to support social justice nonprofits, such as the Equal Justice Initiative, following similar pledges from other companies such as Bank of America Corp and Facebook .

ever since the government got involved intel has been in a weird position, because as you say their future depends on this manufacturing project which might crash and burn. now that there are sub $100 am5 motherboards intel is back in the same position as they were in the am4 days. the best I can say for intel is that they might get acquired by amd or nvidia down the road. they haven't demonstrated that they have the internal r&d talent to make a comeback.

Let's be real. DEI memes aside. It's the CEO's fault. It's the shareholders fault. They want maximum profit, they cut costs.

How do these things happen? You need to have some kind of safety mechanism. One guy does the job, another controls it. This takes time, this costs money. But in the end it will increase safety and not lead to those problems.

You can't even tell if it is really a minority people's problem. Maybe a black employee told his white boss that there is a problem, but the white boss said "fuck it, it will hold" and didn't act on it.

I'm not really white, I'm southeuropean/med but I've worked with whites. And they like to try to be very efficient, fast and think what they do is right and without mistakes. But damn, when I read their texts as trainee I or control their work in other ways (for example when I worked as a student as a recipient at a law firm) they did a lot of mistakes (forgetting address, or other things).

I have to say that I didn't work with blacks or actually I did once at younger age and simple jobs like McDonalds or at a fair/exhibition and they did their job right. Yeah, more laid back, but they did it. At McD actually the opposite, the black boss was the stricter one. Whites love to do things fast fast fast and fast and that also leads to mistakes.

If a team of 2 blacks lead to an incident and they reported it to a black boss and he didn't act on it, then you can say it was DEI's fault.

In general it is questionable, why a company that is bound to high safety measures wants to employ this many blacks when you know they aren't as diligent. I mean, it is one thing to pledge to employ more of them and seek out for them. And another to deny them because of their race. The latter would be discrimantion and racist, the prior though is a social justice act and not required by law as far as I know.

In general in that sector you should always have a team working and not a single person. You can't rely on one person. There are also 2 pilots in a plane. I don't know how many check a plane, but there should be at least 2 people or better groups of 2 people checking the plane and it would be even better if those teams of 2 would check the work of the other team of 2. It's not a meme. Shareholder want maximum profit which is why companies seek to find a balance. BANKS are making record profits currently and they still are laying off people.

Most blacks in America are not descendants of slavery
Dark skins in Mexico, Brasil, and other SA countries (mexico included) are essentially miked slave + the natives that were there.
What many old black people did experience was segregation and the social obligation to smile like a happy nigger no matter what and put up with social bs.
Nowadays its just that white people are having to deal with the same bs and instead of blaming tptb, we all find a reason to blame another race or just someone poorer than us for our plights.
I don't hate you nor do I think you are bad for being unenlightened. I hope you find enlightenment tho.
Best case scenario for black people in america would have been if Malcolm X or A Lincoln successfully got back2africa going and the USA formed a black-american ethnostate in Africa for people--any americans, but mostly blacks-- who choose to leave America to go live there.
Then the same with the Mexicans but they should probably get pushed further south so that the sovereign states or native american tribes can imperialize Mexico.

The politicians are not the people. Our ability to hold them accountable is interrupted by the immigrants voting for corrupt politicians vowing ethnic loyalty to them. Most conservatives have intense hatred for their representatives but can't do anything about it.

*That's* why you're seeing the rise of eg AFD in Germany.

You have to live with globalist livestyle. Tesla wants to produce in Mexico. Why not in the US?

It is companies that want to produce in poor countries. If they wouldn't do that but produce in the US, maybe there would be less migrants. There would be less political reason to be open to migration. And it is companies that want cheap labour from poor countries, causing migration into your country. It unironically should be the left that is supposed to be protectionist and against open borders. Open borders and globalism is rightwing(as long as not nationalist)-liberal stuff.

But yeah, leftists let immigrants in that then vote for leftists and the problem gets worse. Both sides are retarded. i wouldn't vote for a migrationparty as I know it primarily benefits companies.

if you turn on security lending (lending your stock to shorting bobos and getting a fee for it) keep in mind that you cannot write covered calls for any loaned share. Similarly shares for which you've written a cc cannot be lent. You can always sell, though.

>They aren't practical for 99% of scenarios
Depends what you mean by "scenarios"
For most people, they are practical most of the time: like driving to work and home, going to the grocery store, going to the mall, whatever... You let it charge overnight and it's always ready to go for the average daily driving distance. That also works well for a lot of business fleet vehicle scenarios that don't have to travel TOO far.
However, the scenarios where they aren't practical are REALLY bad. Longer trips, even though they aren't common for most people, are brutal. Range per charge isn't good enough and charging takes too long. Or, if you don't have a place you can charge it overnight every night (like if you rent and park in a garage), getting an EV would a terrible decision. Or, if you actually enjoy driving and like to accelerate hard or take turns quick, then you will absolutely chew through expensive tires because the car weighs so much.

You basically have to own a house if you want to have an EV because there is no place to charge the fucking things publicly. Millennials and gen z have no chance of owning a home until the next real estate Armageddon. They don't perform well in cold climates, and you have to change out $30k in batteries every 5 years. It was a clever con by corporations. They came up with a whole made up scenario called man made climate change simply to make money which is sad in its own right.

I have a Tesla and hate it because everything has to be done through the gay touch screen, but the underlying EV tech is amazing. Its actually useful for 98% of use cases. Even with keeping the battery between 20% to 80% and thus taking a 40% cut to total range, its several hours of driving per day. Which is often not enough for long days running the road, because I live in then middle of nowhere, but for the average cityfag commuter its overkill

Millennials had one shot at owning a home and it was right after the 08-09 crash so we would have been in our early 20's and just luckily enough to already have a really good job at that point already. I'm not interested in paying $400k for a 800 square foot house just to say I own it. Plus the real estate market has nowhere to go but down at this point. Nobody is buying at these levels. It's just boomers trading houses with each other anymore. Gen z has literally no ambition though. The war in Ukraine might escalate soon, it's coming to a crucial point.
France getting critique for not providing enough financial aid, that's why Macron has heated up his rhetoric about sending NATO troops to fight.
Perhaps there's disagreement amongst the allies on how to proceed, Germany wants to send more money, France wants a different strategy and is now asking the coalition to put their money where their mouths are.

Russian oil infrastructure, far into heartland Russia, being droned. More sophisticated long range missiles on the way.

There's a seriously high risk of Ukraine getting carpet nuked if attacks deep inside Russia continues. That or Russia loses the war, which I don't think they will before nuking Ukraine.
