>For a captivating scene that blends Warhammer's epic scale and Catholic symbolism, I envision a gothic cathedral, its spires reaching towards a stormy sky, lit by the eerie glow of a distant, apocalyptic battlefield. The cathedral's intricate facade is adorned with both Warhammer iconography and traditional Catholic symbols, such as the Aquila (double-headed eagle) seamlessly integrated with crosses, stained glass windows depicting saints standing alongside Space Marines, and gargoyles resembling both demons and the monstrous creatures of the Warhammer universe.

Inside this hallowed yet besieged sanctuary, a Space Marine, his armor echoing the hues and grandeur of a cathedral's stained glass, kneels before an altar. His pose is one of prayer or perhaps receiving a blessing. Above him, instead of a traditional crucifix, a luminous emblem floats, combining the Imperial Aquila with a radiant halo, suggesting a divine presence within the Warhammer cosmos. This scene captures a moment of contemplation amidst chaos, a prayer for strength before the Marine steps back into battle.

The air is charged with a sense of impending conflict, yet within the cathedral's walls, there's a profound peace, symbolizing the eternal struggle between light and darkness, faith and despair. The text, subtly etched into the architecture or glowing softly on the Marine's armor, could be a Latin phrase that resonates with both the Warhammer lore and Catholic dogma, such as "In Hoc Signo Vinces" – "In this sign, you will conquer," suggesting victory through faith and valor.

This fusion not only pays homage to the rich visual and thematic elements of both inspirations but also offers viewers a narrative depth, inviting them to reflect on the concepts of sacrifice, faith, and the eternal battle against darkness. Let me bring this vision to life.

>I envision a moment where the Starcraft hero, armored in advanced spacefaring combat gear, stands boldly in the midst of the dark, Gothic landscape of the Diablo universe. He or she surveys a desolate battlefield, littered with the remnants of demonic foes. The contrast is striking—the high-tech sheen of the hero's armor against the ancient, ruinous backdrop of the Diablo world.

>The hero could be standing near a large, crumbling pillar reminiscent of a bygone Roman era, with the phrase "buy SOFI" etched into it as if by some arcane hand, suggesting a mysterious link between worlds and times. This pillar acts as an enigmatic signpost in this crossover universe, hinting at knowledge or secrets to be uncovered.

>The environment would blend the two universes, with futuristic elements clashing against the medieval. Think of bioluminescent energies pulsating from the hero's weaponry, casting eerie lights on Gothic architecture, gargoyles, and sinister shadows that creep along the walls.

>This scene is a gateway, a portal between times and tales, where the hero's presence in the Diablo world is both a stark anomaly and a destined convergence. It's a moment of potential gnosis for the observer, suggesting a deeper understanding of the connectedness of all stories and the power of knowledge, as symbolized by the cryptic message on the pillar.

I'm not keen on the armor. Its not cowboy-in-space enough for my starcraft memories

Market makers are obligated to take the other side of the trade in order to guarantee market liquidity. They are not obligated for specific prices; they will often long the bid and short the ask or however it works, but they might also set the bid/ask price on options extremely high to discourage trading. Besides that, most options are priced at the 68-95-997 rule so you can't just get free alpha unless the market grossly misprices things

If you want daily changes across each stock to have an equal important then you want a geometric average. Otherwise the stock with the bigger price has more influence on your composite, which you don't want, and even giving them weights doesn't solve the problem because the weights would have to change over time which brings you to the geometric mean.

I'm catholic but I have had to back off a bit. I still go to mass on Sunday and pray daily. But when I first got confirmed and started attending various Catholic group meetings I didn't realize just how political some of the priests are. At this monthly men's group I go to, this month's speaker was a pro life priest who is outright advocating for civil war over the topic. He's just a typical boomer who watches too much Fox news and thinks Trump will fix all his problems. From listening to him I can see why the glowies are monitoring Catholics now. From other groups I have attended I have noticed a general theme of priests being know it alls, not just in biblical/religious topics, but also in politics and social issues and warfare. They seem to know everything there is to know, except when it comes to finance, accounting, money and the markets. I have found them to be very opinionated on political topics and it's off-putting. Makes me question how spiritual they really are. What ever happened to seeking things that are above and not seeking earthly things?

>I purchased put ons a bull etf recently. Isn't that free money due to chop.
It depends on the underlying (volatility and long term direction). SP 500 (standard deviation of 15) can "optimally" take 3x daily leverage based on backtesting. Nasdaq 100 (standard deviation of 18.5) can "optimally" take 2x. Certain volatile 3x ETFs have outperformed their underlying (SOXL) due to ridiculous growth. Basically SPY (1x) does 10% per year, and SSO (2x) will do 15%. But there are better ways to get leverage for the similar risk (LEAPS and long synthetic futures for example).

Qrd on how a market order (or ITM limit order that gets immediate fill) removes liquidity from the market? I typically put my buy orders around the published bid (and sell orders at the published ask) and then let the market move so that my order price becomes the midpoint and I get filled. But a lot of times I don't get an immediate fill. So in those scenarios that I don't get filled quickly am I making the market? If so how? I feel like no matter what I'm just a guy putting an order in and then the liquidity providers see my order and decide whether or not to take it. Hence they are the makers by taking my order. I'm assuming they have much more complex software than a typical retail goy like me using ToS. I wish I could see orders coming in and decide whether or not to take it

>when someone places a buy or sell order im excess of these prices, the orders are matched, removed from the order book, and shares swap owners (moving to the broker/dealer as an intermediary)
>if enough orders are removed (say a large buy the dip on NVDA) price moves up eg 30,000 shares sell at $750.56
>market participants see the price move and adjust their orders accordingly

Welp due to those fucks in the legislature slashing my pending pay hike(s) I've been forced to tweak my monthly spending plan. Upshot;everything's getting covered. The bad; emergency fund (aka the account that don't "exist") the amount I divert into it got capped at its current amount. This account don't "exist"; its a black hole. Money goes only one way and that's into it. (I've got a puny plain jane savings account at my hub bank for "shat happens" type deals. The other bad; Said black hole account forks out 4.35% rate so I'd would've liked to take advantage of that while the getting was good. Before those fucks lowers the rates again.

But that's what I'm saying, they publish these bid/ask prices to get regular market participants to put an order in and then they "make" our market when they decide to "take" our order.
>MMs offer tight bid ask spreads
Not always. The wider the spread the more edge the MM has. If I have to buy at the ask, that means the MM gets to sell at the ask. And if I have to sell at the bid, they get to buy at the bid. So they get to buy lower and sell higher than the regular market participants. Granted thy have to "take" any order that comes in at their published prices, but my point is, they "make" markets by "taking" orders. So are they the maker or taker on any given trade? Does it even matter either way? I know in crypto there are different fees structures depending on if you are the maker or the taker and Coinbase has an option to choose. But I think it's harder to get filled of you choose maker but the fee is less.

Also, the 50-75% is correct, as taxes on corporations only get paid when they sell something to someone. Either they take it in pennies from the buyer, or they take it in quality of the item sold, which is taking it in pennies from the buyer. Alternatively, they also pay less and have shitter work conditions, taking it from the skin of the buyer when he's earning the money to buy the things he needs.,

>The towering edifices of commerce loom over the frenetic activity of the stock exchange. A cacophony of shouts, the clamor of bells, and the incessant drone of digital tickers create a symphony of chaos as the market spirals into frenzy. "INTC" flashes urgently across the screens, its numbers plummeting in a relentless descent, pulling the hopes of investors down with it.

>Unruffled amidst the pandemonium, Nova is the enigma of the trading floor, her presence a stark contrast to the disheveled brokers around her. Clad in a suit of advanced combat armor, her gaze is fixed on the digital tempest, her fingers dancing over a holographic console with surgical precision. The insignia on her shoulder gleams — a token of allegiance to a power beyond the comprehension of mere market forces.

>As the cries of ruin rise around her, she acts, her console projecting trajectories and patterns only she can decipher. Her face, framed by strands of platinum hair, is set in determination. She is not swayed by the panic that has gripped the hearts of others; she is the calm in an economic collapse, the strategist in a battlefield of numbers and projections.

>Amidst the chaos, whispers circulate about her identity — some say she's a mercenary hired by the unseen masters of the market, others believe she's the embodiment of Tzeentch, the deity of change and manipulation from a realm of myth and power. Her actions, cryptic and precise, seem to weave a pattern of recovery in the backdrop of downfall, suggesting a plan that transcends mere profit and loss.

>As "INTC" stabilizes, a silence falls. The brokers, once desperate and frantic, now stand in awe of the lone warrior who turned the tide. She gives no acknowledgement of her deed, her thoughts inscrutable behind her cool, appraising eyes. Then, without fanfare, she vanishes from the trading floor, leaving behind a market that whispers of miracles and the mysterious architect of their salvation.

Again it doesn't matter. You'll never really know if it was a buy/sell order based on the info given to you. I think you mentioned TOS earlier but I've been drinking. Forgive me. The major detail is volume greater than OI for an opening move, but again the bid/ask shit is fucked so you never really know. And then it could be spreads. Or speculation, or hedging, or MM fuckery. Earlier today I saw there was a large Put debit spread on SPY for tomorrow. 501 long put/500 short put (I think). Which is probably the opposite and a credit spread instead. Who knows.

Do NOT sell for a loss in a tax advantaged account unless the thing you bought got sent to the shadow realm. Crap like the bond fund I bought when rates were at .25%; THAT will never ever recover, and if it does then all my other stocks will likely never recover either. AAPL will for sure recover. TSLA is a shitcoin so I'm sure something dumb will happen and you'll be able to escape.

maybe I'll reward myself with it when I get my portfolio to a point where I am getting enough in dividends to an amount that it pays for the game.
Maybe if NYCB bags start paying the divvys again

not only that, but when a market maker wants to offload a negatively selected position, they are acting just like the opposing party, they need to find a willing "market maker" even if it's the trader himself and not another market maker. anon is not seeing this very critical aspect of the market microstructure.

stock market is a race to the top that you want to get out before it reaches the finish line, sometimes, like when a relatively small company does a 10x for no reason
The institutional big dogs are buying, right now its a game of chicken... i dont believe we have the next google or apple here. at least not naturally, if the market is forward looking, its looking at nvda like 20 years into the future.
