I did something like this; may be wrong on some details but this should give you a nice idea.

>Buy new coin for super cheap
>Shit moons, get 6x my investment
>Think I should start investing elsewhere
>Slowly start to lose money - buying high and selling low because every time I got into something it would actually go down, meaning I don't know how to fucking read the market and technical analysis was not helping
>Move to Binance, buy a shitcoin thinking the uptrend would follow, it fucking crashes the moment after I buy
>End up collecting dust
>Move back to my original broker
>Invest in the original coin
>Lose 50%
>Buy ETH
>Move to KuCoin
>Decide to play a bit on the ETH/KCS pair
>A whale comes in
>Lose 10% today
>The fucker even made a thread about it

Now I'm into the DENT/ETH pair because the uptrend seems smooth but I may be wrong again.

I don't know what I'm even doing anymore. At least I think I may make a very small gain right now.

Yeah, but why did you sell?

See, the big coins, Bitcoin, litecoin etc are already dead.

The bubble is too big. That ship sailed years ago.

But the newer coins, the undervalued ones, are the next gold mines. When Bitcoin crashes (just a matter of time), they are going to invest into these little coins.

So the return on investment is going to pay off if you get in early and HOLD. Don't sell. It may take a couple of years, but if you buy them at these low prices, it will pay off.

be very careful chasing the green dildo. generally not worth buying ATH (only occasionally wrong, e.g. RaiBlocks).

this is an important first lesson and most of us lost a bit of coin learning it.

also, don't sell just because you start seeing red.

if you see something shilled here, try to determine if it is legit/semi-legit and not a complete pajeet PnD. if it is, buy when it is red and sell when it is green.

this. a great trading rule if you're using /biz/ as a weather vane.

There are exceptions to the rule thou. Buy BTC/ETH and have it on standby at all time, even if it's just 300 bucks. People were trying to FUD XLM with some reddit community faggotry they took down, shit x2'd after that.

DBC, might be worth getting into shilling aside.

To expand on the rule, go on crypto twitter and look at some of the "gurus" suggestions. If they have a coin they're talking about and it's not on anyone's radar on /biz/, odds are you'll make decent gains on it. I tried this for first time on elastic and it went from 60 to 75.

Sure, I could go full hodl but how? Nothing is certain, picking a currency to invest into is difficult and it feels like I'm walking on quick sand. If I pick right, I will easily get a good income in some weeks or months but if I pick wrong I'll lose everything and this is no better than a game of guessing. There's a bunch of technical stuff, but I'm feeling nothing helps.

I may not have the temperament, I could build it though ... if I knew what to build on the first place and for how long to hodl before the thing inevitably crashes. How do I know I have to sell? None of you motherfuckers even know what this means you just see a name brand attached to a thing and buy it like a nigger buys shoes.

the rule of thumb here is do the opposite /biz/ says. Find a cheap coin that you havnt seen mentioned, check its history 1 week / 1 month back. If it looks like its due for a growth spike go all in and walk away till you see people shilling it

I assume you’re neet. I am too. I personally got a construction job for a year so i could dump money into this, you could work a random min wage job and just quit before your neetbux are threatened

this poorfag has 10 dollars you retard. brainlets need training wheels. he should just put his 10 in xlm for the month while he learns wtf he's doing.

>If it looks like its due for a growth spike
Wait, how? Earlier in this thread I was told to not go for the green candlebars.

>I assume you’re neet.
Bad assumption, currently in education, my project isn't earning me a single penny, and I've been a very long time in it, but it's mandatory to get my degree and I'm during some very critical weeks. If I don't finish this I may get forced into classes again - even when I'm already done with my program.

I don't even have time for random min wage jobs. I'm working on it as we speak, and my last few months have consisted on working on the project and sleeping, basically.

Surprisingly this sounds like the safest advice I've heard.

>idk what you mean by scam. it just tracks coins for you. what is there to scam?
I've no idea, it might be the wrong app too.

How do I LARP on blockfolio?

download the app, pick coins and split the imaginary money into them and make decisions based off of their performance

Just find old men on craigslist that want young guys:
>let them piss on you or you piss on them
>let them suck your dick
>you fuck them
>big bucks if they fuck you

Just never tell anyone about it and tell yourself its just a few times to make you hundreds of thousands of dollars, if you can't bring yourself to do this then you just gonna have to wait till you can get a job.

Thanks for the flatter but I'm not as young as you may believe.

>if you can't bring yourself to do this then you just gonna have to wait till you can get a job
Dude. I already have a debt three times above what I have currently in my bank account (out of neccesity, not pleasure). The sooner I can pay it the better.

Don't mean to be a buzzkill, but you really shouldn't even touch crypto until you're able to get your debt paid off.
Crypto is one of the most volatile and speculative markets out there. It has a knack for not doing what people expect. The number one rule is that you should never put into it more than what you're willing to lose... and when you have debt that needs to be paid off, living like you have money to lose can have disastrous consequences.

>The number one rule is that you should never put into it more than what you're willing to lose
What I put in was what I could afford to lose. It wasn't going to make a difference.

Are you prepared to stop there, though? Even if you end up losing most or all of what you've put in?

Yes. All I put was... like $8? I managed to have up to 64, 65 dollars thanks to having investing in a coin that mooned but I made terrible decisions and now I have around $10.

>> No.5798831

>>5798733
And you're committed to never adding to that $10 from income sources as long as you carry that debt?

>> No.5798874

How do you know when to sell an altcoin? /biz/ shits on you for bagholding and they shit on you for having weak hands.

>> No.5798915

>>5798831
Totally. I'm committed to not add more than that. I haven't done it and I'm tightly holding onto that money. In fact if I'm into too bad of a risk of going under my initial investment I might just cash out.

>> No.5799017

If that's so, then I applaud you for having such strong resolve. If I were in your position, I honestly don't know if I'd be able to limit myself like that for long in this market.

Thank you! Trading is not an obsession and I know very well that bad steps into any direction will turn out badly. I don't want to lose the little I have.

Thing is, I don't even know what to do. Maybe if I just transfer my ETH to binance, buy XLR, and just hold for some weeks? Is it a safe move?

Every rando you ask will tell you something different. Only by doing your own research will you build an understanding of what is and isn't solid.
Even then, nothing in this space is safe. For the longest time, everyone was convinced BTC was the safest crypto by far. Now, even early investors are starting to lose faith in it.

>> No.5799539

I understand. I'm not sure what to research of how to determine what is or isn't solid, but then I guess I should try. Thank you.

Glad to be of some help. Doing your homework may not be much fun or bring short-term results, but it pays off in the long run. Best of luck to you.
