I can't wrap my head around the fact that $30k in 2024 has the same purchasing power as $16k back in 2000.
24 years to cut your wealth almost in half if you didn't invest in the stock market etc. and even then you get raped by taxes.
>"100% of the risk on your end? lowering your standard of living to be able to invest? oh you made a 10% profit, we'll take 1/4 of that, thank you. oh you lost 50%, too bad but that's YOUR problem. remember goy, inflation is not a tax."

it's only worse for the multi-billion-dollar companies, the consumer (aka you fucking faggot) profits a lot more. Sure smaller companies will take a hit too but this will ultimately result in zombie companies getting wiped out for good.

So I bought 10k worth of NVDL around 10am yesterday, then took a shower and came back to it being immediately down like 10%. Now it's down 20%. Would it be smarter to hold it, sell half, or sell it all? 8k is still a ton of money to play with, and I could take the loss against my SOXL gains, but I also think there's a distinct possibility of NVDA ripping to above 1000 as long as there's no catastrophic economic data.

Chip architecture is to chip design as a programming language is to software, or software libraries are to software.

Your suggestion is a bit like asking a software dev why they don't just code in asm if they're already in software development, or why they link to libraries rather than coding their own from scratch.

>> No.57921500

Think of it as a compatibility standard. Intel and AMD have their own chip designs, but they both run the same software.

>Also, if you already bother to design your own chips like Apple why not your own architecture too?
Same reason IBM clones killed Atari, Commodore, Sinclair and so on. No one wants a PC that can't run Windows, or a smartphone without Android. Apple is the only company that could get away with it, but rewriting iOS to save 30 cents in licensing fees is likely not worth it.

You think none of those are dividend traps like T that will pay your principal back to you under the guise of high yields? What the other replies said
My hot take is that x86-64 is a bloated language and I would much rather read and write in ARM or RISCV assembly
>author's note
I have never actually written ARM, but I risc is very close
there is this concept in programming where the programmer can do things that make the programmer's or the machine's job easier
risc is still only an academic and reasearch architecture, but there are advantages to it over arm-- and many advantages over x86

Most of modern crypto is like this, just never ending schemes trying to draw in new fodder while stringing on the current investors so they can continue converting made up tokens into US Dollars. I went on a date with as close to a 10 (brains too) as you'll get nowadays however aside from the crazy religion babble she said something that ticked me off: "boys are endless" implying that she can pick them off the conveyor belt at will. She's 30 now and single, only had 1 partner in the past. I have so many questions. Is this the general attitude of top tier women nowadays? What drove them to this? Around what age will they realise that good men are scarce? What are the finanical implications of this? Obviously she will find someone by lowering standards over time and someone will put up with the religious bs (not me) but it's this attitude that a good partner is on every corner that really surprised me.

Yes and it's not even their fault. Zoomers and millennial men have more estrogen in their body than testosterone. Women don't respect men because they aren't men anymore. If men stop being faggots and actually start behaving like men, women won't have this attitude anymore.

Niggas, the US debt scare is non-existent. We have 30-year home mortgages. Apply the same principle to the US debt "problem": The debt is spread out for the next 30 years. And with a yearly GDP of 28T, only ph4gg0t5 are bearish.
>but muh compounding interest
Nigga, yearly GDP is also compounding. Add: millionaire inflows from foreign countries, foreign investors, talent pool of immigrants, energy independence, American companies globalizing territories, America-as-the-world's-gunshop instead of American-as-the-world's-police—America is unironically getting more antifragile as the decades continue.

Agree. But not as much as you think.
The answer towards fixing the debt problem *is* already at play. The only "problem" about the solutions is that they require multi-decadal *frontrunning* to see the forests that bear fruits.
Solutions? Population growth, which requires at least 14 years (legal working age with permission). Technological growth, which is exemplified by the innovator's dilemma (S-Curve problem). Brain drain growth, which requires a massive difference in standards of living compared to the foreigner's mother country (housing, education, public services and commodities, manufacturing, life extension). Mars (pinnacle goal, sand-box mode achieved for whoever reaches here first). Market-based education (youtube, but unironically). Energy independence (America already achieved this, and is in fact the largest EXPORTER of energy, now imagine nuclear which is already at play too). Food independence (already achieved too, largest exporter of certain kinds of food). As for the dollar, namely its reserve status? Notice the cr*pto ETFs? What do you think is the next stage? All of these are multi-decadal.

But if you want to delve into the psychology of it, I can. Its because the middle class is being hollowed out. Check steve balmers website USAfacts for good data on it (i always shill that website because its great). So now the working class feels as though the american dream will always be out of reach. Crypto is one of the few things they can gamble on and actually win. For people with money its silly because you can get MUCH better returns through traditional investments with much less risk. But for the bottom half, its a lottery they still have a chance on while their world grows ever darker.

I’m still up 60% on SE and 350% on NVDA despite the pullback. Neither company is going to be hurting in the long term even if both are currently overvalued. I’m up double digits in MELI despite the pullback. My Hang Seng positions are slightly up as well. My bond portfolio is up in market value which dropped the overall yield below 6% but they are ready and waiting for the inevitable recession and flight to safety. I’m also watching European markets and the banking sector for signs of macro weakness that drags some solid companies to discount. My Bitcoin is up but that’s not an investment. It’s just something with a predictable macro that I can use to siphon off dumb money to be reallocated into actual investments. I’m generally quite pleased with the situation at the moment. Also what may happen for AI is what happened to crypto. GPUs were great until dedicated AISIC cards came out.

Look I’m just saying there is no point ti invest in Nvdia going forward. Either it grows (can’t by much more due to it being the third highest market value in earth), or it pays dividends. Hold your preexisting bags but Just move onto something else for future investments. INTC absolutely can compete given 2 to 3 years, if you absolutely want to keep investing in semiconductors. Honestly once you pass the phase in your 20's where you are horny all the time, you realize that sex isn't really worth having to deal with the craziness that modern day western women bring with it. Find a nice 2d wife and focus on your career. AI waifu's are just around the corner.

I love my Wife and all that but honestly if say god forbid, we divorce or something fucked happens I'm not getting married again. Once is enough. The whole concept of "dating" now is very different than it was when me and her got together. These days getting an STD is the least of your worries, as fucked as that is, now its "is Stacy really a Stacy?" is the thing you gotta watch out for.

Combined, they had $66.3 billion of assets, the FDIC said. That's how we know NYCB wasn't on the list: Its total assets were $116 billion at year-end. An FDIC spokesman declined to comment. That NYCB was left off is a sign that banking regulators didn't see the depths of its recent troubles coming ahead of time.

I met her in college. Nearly 60% of high school graduates are virgins these day, especially the smart ones.

Just accept the fact that you are a failed male. Terminally online. Who thinks the bottom 20% of women who have always been whores represent reality. You are undersocialized so you can’t tell that all the doomer blackpilled content you see is just cherry picking data. You cling the the belief that women are all whores to justify your own failings, while superior men enjoy the fruits of their success

I was binge watching post wall women cry on YouTube awhile back. They all seem terrified that they will end up lonely. Seems to me that they would be pretty easy to sex up. Just don’t hang around too long afterwards. Glad I’m a guy that doesn’t mind being alone and most days I prefer it. My waifigs keep me company.

It's great when a simulation actually gives you a usable result.

An exponentially weighted lookback of 1000 days is best for predicting the correlation between my trading strategies.

Monday will be a very interesting day. I was contrarian and doubled down on cheap calls when it was dropping Friday. We will see if this was a dumb move, or if this is truly a bearish reversal. Remember, NVDA is still up FOR THE WEEK. Option holders and tutes taking weekly profit doesn't devalue the stock.

I'm not saying be a permabull, but be careful, I'm not convinced of a gap fill yet.
