A highly optimized (mostly) vegan diet is probably best for longevity. People will cope and seethe because they can't bring themselves to do it though. Also, exercise, being at low body fat and sleep are very important. Start early, you can't reverse (most of) aging. Too many people don't start taking their health serious until they feel/ look like shit. And at that point a lot of irreversible damage has already been done.

If you just want to look younger, then avoid too much sun exposure and take collagen peptides + oral hyaluronic acid. DHT blocker if you have male pattern baldness.

Perfect example of the cope and seethe. The evidence is very strong in favour of a (mostly) plant-based diet. You want to it to not be true because you enjoy eating animal products (so do I).

>anyone who disagrees is coping and seething
lol.
the "evidence" is in favor of the blue zones, none of which are vegan.
okinawans, for example, who have the "purple sweet potato" reputation, actually eat pork and lard.
simply eat a balanced natural diet that includes grass-fed meat and dairy, they have lots of beneficial nutrients.

instead of supplements to "look younger," do actual skincare which is much, much more effective. all you need is moisturizer at the very least. DHT blockers work for keeping hair, sure, but consider possible side effects of entirely blocking a hormone.

Suggesting that eating foods high in saturated fat is laughable. you’ve been listening to too many social media gurus. The scientific consensus is very strong. I don’t really care about the blue zone meme studies. Modern okinawans (whom we don’t know the life expectancies of) do eat more animal products but it’s still not a lot.

>saying I listen to social media gurus when I'm simply talking about traditional diets and very simple skincare routines
I'm literally stating what I've seen work on myself and what has been eaten for thousands of years by developed civilizations. nothing to do with social media gurus. perhaps you're projecting.
I've done vegan diets for Lent, I can most definitely do them, there's no "cope" about not being able to eat meat. They didn't feel good. They gave me gas and stressed out my stomach, and everyone knows that stress, psychological or physical, is terrible for health. I have no allegiance to any particular meme diet, I'm not carnivore or some gay shit, I'm only stating what I've seen and felt working.

mentioning a scientific consensus on an optimal diet is total faggotry because there most definitely is not a consensus

Causes stress, bad meme suggestion
Besides, it makes you exhausted and not be able to do anything, anyway. Which, in turn, will lead to a dull life, which is bad for longevity...
>it has shown animals that eat less food age less quickly
I've seen examples of the exact opposite when animals were fed intermittently instead of regularly

Vitamin C in fruit form, boosts collage production. Eat tons of fruit. Also the best way to age slower face wise is vitamin C serum to put on your skin. Don't buy this shit online make it yourself.

For a 20% serum in a 60ml container use 12grams of vitamin c in a powered form and mix it in destilled water. This shit is insane, it removed my acne scars and made my skin way cleaner, also it boosts collagen production.

If you use it after you did some micro needling on your face it's even more effective, but it burns.

Then of course the usual stuff as plant based diet, but not low fat diet. Too low body fat makes you look aged, so keep a little bit chubby but with healthy fats from avocados, olives, walnuts flax seeds etc.

>> No.57859547

>>57859470
>in fruit form
why particularly in fruit form instead of including vegetables?
you're mostly correct about vitamin c, but I wouldn't just rub some random vitamin c powder on your face. get an actual vitamin c skincare product. even actual products are finicky, so look into them.

the other main things you need for collagen production are zinc, copper, and certain amino acids like glycine, proline, and lysine
get them from food don't just go supplement crazy because it doesn't work the same and you'd be malnourished

>> No.57859617

>>57859470
and btw for the other nutrients I listed for collagen, these are the highest sources:
zinc: oysters
copper: beef liver
glycine: gelatin/bone broth
proline: gelatin/bone broth
lysine: dairy (high protein yogurts like greek and skyr have most)

>> No.57859644

>>57859547
Well because fruit are the highest in vitamin c, there are some vegetables like bell peppers and low sugar sources like blueberries who also have tons of antioxidants. I just think that vitamin C from plants is more suited to our bodies than in supplement form. I put the serum on and then a moisturizer that's it.

eh besides bell peppers there's tomatoes (technically a fruit sure) and greens. but yeah fruit is good too and generally easier to digest.
be careful with that homemade vitamin c serum, anon, I've never heard of anyone doing that... Idk the risks but it sounds risky. at the very least I wouldn't imagine that powder is the most sterile for putting on skin.

I don't care about American dietary guidelines, I'm not American and don't think the American guidelines are particularly good. But fwiw the general American population never ate close to the dietary guidelines.

Your argument is basically based on anecdotal evidence and appeal to nature. Evolution does not select for longevity past reproductive age. Perhaps you're not very good at digesting plant foods, perhaps your gut needed longer time to adjust. I don't know. I had some gas too when I started eating more plant-based, but it went away after a 1-2 months. You gotta ease into it.

I did not say that there's a scientific consensus on a specific diet, but the scientific consensus on topics such as a diet high saturated fat being harmful and eating a diet high in whole plant foods being beneficial is very strong.

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is an underappreciated supplement that basically buffs up the healing processes in the body and its used to build glutathione. Its organic sulphur - which most people aren't getting enough due to depleted soils. Helps for connective tissue, hair, nails, immune system, and what not. Its also quite cheap and easy to produce. Everyone should be supplementing MSM.
