BCH was a BTC hard fork, LTC was always its own chain.
LTC is faster with a 2.5 minute block time. BCH uses 0-conf and big blocks to achieve higher speed and throughput which have always been known to come with tradeoffs to security and decentralization.
LTC implements SegWit which allows for atomic swaps to be performed on it.
Overall, they both suck and rely on outdated technology. But BCH is clearly the worst of the two

>> No.57789408

>>57788905
its just too slow for me. its the exact same speed as bitcoin. litecoin is way faster.

bitcoin cash has 0-conf but not all places accept this feature. you can't do 0-conf on bitcoin core cause they did the replace-by-fee and segwit scam upgrades

0-conf --> instant

if you send it bch from your phone to your friend phone it takes less than a second.

he's a techlet that has 0 clues about anything. BCH has atomic swaps too, and it indeed has nothing to do with segwit.

guess what RBF is not a consensus change! rn a few % of the nodes run full-RBF and it works just fine. which means if your retarded ass wants to rely on mempool relay for finality you gonna get rekt. not to mention the race conditions that can rekt you with first seen.

yeah but no one sends it to eachother, im talking about with exchanges it takes forever. and ive sent BCH p2p before and it was deff not instant. took like 5 minutes to appear and 10 minutes to be able to do anything with it

>> No.57789518

>>57789492
cause there was a hash war and price war that the people that wanted to increase the block size and didn't want segwit lost. that first top is just the hash war and price war for the BTC ticker. it doesn't count.

>> No.57789520

>>57789436
no. no place accepts 0-conf. 0 conf was never accepted anywhere because it was never secure.

>> No.57789528

>>57789442
BTC couldn't support atomic swaps without segwit because block space was too limited. Segwit is necessary to reduce the transaction size to make atomic swap feasible. BCHtards don't care about this since they just decide to have fuckhuge blocks even though it's known to be bad for decentralization and even security (by increasing the block propagation time and the stale/orphan block rate - another reason why large and well-connected mining farms are favored on big block networks)

i sent it too and it was instant. I use bch all the time.

> yeah but no one sends it to eachother,
there's people that actually use crypto (like me). they all like bch.

>> No.57789544

>>57789515
depends on the wallet, it's definitely possible to sign transactions with unconfirmed inputs. whether anyone accepts them before confirmation is a different matter.

that's retarded dude. any chain that can do HTLCs can easily do atomic swaps. there are other techniques as well like Schnorr adaptor signatures that make these atomic swaps impossible to detect by chain anal.

>> No.57789611

it's possible to do proper 0-conf on bcash. but nobody is doing it as far as i can tell.

real 0-conf exposes the private key if two different transactions are signed for a single input. it uses CHECKSEPARATESIG emulation with OP_CAT and fixed nonce points.

normal lock script is like:
> <Rs> <P> | DUP HASH160 <A> EQUALVERIFY CHECKSIG

a nonce locked script would be like:
> <P> <s> | <R> SWAP CAT SWAP DUP HASH160 <A> EQUALVERIFY CHECKSIG

It's all correct.
Big blocks = less decentralization (prohibitive node overhead + storage cost)
0-conf is less secure than having actual confirmations. It might be good enough for small transactions, but nothing serious.
I don't know about the relationship between big blocks and stale blocks, but stale blocks in general are bad for security because some of the hashrate gets wasted and it lowers the effective hash rate of the main chain.

love to see all the discussion of "blue-chip" alts on here lately--my strategy for this run is basicaly to trade shitcoins and move profits to LTC and BCH for the long term

the market isn't always easy to navigate but BCH is on all levels looking extremely good. the chart (pic related since the bottom) is good. fundamentally all the important upgrades and updates are impletmented, all the bad shit has already happened ( bsv forking off, bitcoinabc forking off))... this has to be a good cycle for bitcoin cash

just look at pic related and tell me that is not looking to double in a mega candle soon.

I decided to push towards my 10 BCH goal for now. I gotta make sure I dont fall into the same trap I did in 2020-21 where I was so risk adverse I ended up missing out on putting in more as well as taking profits.
its only money and its just sitting in savings
still got my job even if its dogshit pay
still got my wife
a little more doesnt matter

I'm at 42 BCH but I'm going to slowly accumulate more. its 3pct of my portfolio right now. I made a successful ada and agix trade that i think will eventually all convertt into BCH. not sure how much agix is going to keep roooning. i bought at 300M marketcap and its now over a billion ( waited 3 months )
