Today we begin the spiritual preparation before the Lenten fast.
Notably, on this week we do not observe the usual Wednesday and Friday fasts. There is no clear record of how this came to be, so several theories have been proposed.

The second theory is to do with church history. During the time of the Council of Chalcedon, it was practice in the Armenian church to begin the Lenten fast early, on this week. Thus, in order to distinguish Orthodox practice from the non-Chalcedonians, it was decided that no fasting would be necessary at all.

This is why buying used enterprise stuff is cheaper. You get the total package all in one go v.s having to build it all yourself. All you do is install drives and the os and roll on from there. Which means Nvidia may experience lower stock evaluations. It also means that the market cap of competitors also increases, thus, there's a possible trade on small up-coming competitors. In summary there is investing and then there is gambling. 99% of this board is either faggots gambling options and leverage or "investors" buying crypto shit. You want to actually invest. And that involves buying companies you think will perform well.

But you're new. And more than that you probably have a job and school shit and hopefully hobbies/family/friends you want to spend your time with. So you have two options. 1) try and make this essentially a part or full time job and get your ass handed to you by the millions of people that are smarter than you, went to higher education to get a degree in this shit, work for a company as a giant group to kick your ass, and even spend thousands of dollars per month to buy a bloomberg terminal so they get to see the data a few seconds sooner than you (and yes that's a real thing)

So what do you do? You just buy the market. You appreciate the fact that you were born in the last 50 years and can just go "fuck it" and buy 4000 companies for a hilariously low 0.03% expense ratio and enjoy your gains and dividends.

To get a little technical the key tenant of investing is that "risk = reward". These risks can be quantifiable. And the biggest one is called "beta". In essence it just means "how much of everything do you own?" You buy everything you max out beta.

Our state legislature is a bunch of fucking idiots. 2022 during the state budget process they mandated a salary study done to fix the low worker salaries and to aid in worker retention. Said study was done. What they do? They shat canned it. "Wasn't detailed enough" I read it. Seemed detailed enough for me to grasp pretty clearly. They ordered yet another study done. 2023 rolls round. Second study comes out. Again it was shat canned. No explanation given. 2024 hits, Governor presents pretty fairly driven plan to aid workers salary issues. What they do? Gutted it and instead we're getting a 4% hike in 2024 and a 2% in 2025 with yet another study on order (3rd one). The irony; state is sitting on 3.7 billion slush fund. Fixing the salaries to make up for lack of any for 10 years would cost a puny drop in the bucket. You'd never see it gone.

So the number of shares you hold in SPAXX is safe, but the amount of money as a dollar amount could theoretically be broken in a buck breaking scenario. SIPC after all is not meant to prevent market losses.
