You have to face retirement eventually. Better to do it when you're young and adaptable instead of getting mind-broken by it after 30 years of employment and doing nothing but watching TV or drinking all day.

I'm financially independent at age 35 with a NW just past $1.8 million. I could probably retire now but it doesn't feel right to do it yet. But I'm strongly considering dropping down to part time next year.

sometimes I consider those who retired early as the freest in the world, think about it:
>they don't have to work 9 hours for shitty wages.
>most probably already have a house
>their only problem in life will be mental and not financial ones
the bad ending for them will be becoming a karen/male karen, mine will be when people forget that michelle obama's name is BIGMIKE and she is a man

All that matters is the option to retire. If you enjoy your job there's really no need to. I just want to work on my own stuff instead of slaving away for someone else.

I mean, what's the point at retiring at 45? Like, what are you even gonna do for the next 40 years? sit around and do nothing, have no purpose, no reason to live, it sounds rather miserable honestly.

if you have no life outside of waging you're more miserable and empty than actual NEETS

that hit hard Anon.... what a miserable person I am, you're right Anon. I'm not sure if I can change my ways by now, but I must try, or else I will be miserable forever.
