I have 8 that I'm keen on and follow fairly well. They are all have a similar use case so it's easier to keep up to date.

Let's see:

>put $100 in coin A that pumps 10% and end up with $110
>put $100 in coin B that pumps 20% and end up with $120
>end up with a total of $230
vs.
>put $200 in coin A that pumps 10% and end up with $220
>end up with a total of $220

So that's literally not true. It does require a lot more effort, though, to keep track and either add to your position or exit at the appropriate times. But if part of your money makes more gains, you gain more (who would've thunk!).

Based OP. People vaslty overestimate their personal ability to predict what's going to pump vs not.
You need multiple coins per narrative and market cap tier. Follow them closely every day. See which ones sustain the hype. If a coin fails to pump during the bullrun, swap it for an overperformer.

Say you have 2000$. You put all the money into a 20x coin, which gets you 40k, nice. Now, since I am really smart, I put 1000$ into a coin that does 5x and another 1000 into a coin that does 40x, I get 45k, which is more than 40k. Plus, if your shitty coin crashes, that's it for you. I at least probably only lose half of my initial investment.

I've got 2 maincoins I DCA into every month: 0.2 btc, 70k HBAR.
then shitcoins I buy with beer money, such as 60k JASMY (bought month ago), 4k DOGE (december 2021 buy), 25mil SHIB (2021 buy), 500k avi and HTS shitcoins.
