Why so much focus on withholding? Most brokers don't withhold anything and you don't have to make estimated payments to the irs untill you are raking in five figures a quarter.

I don't know anything about taxes in leafistan, but usually withholding is estimated payments on taxes where the extra amount paid gets refunded come tax time. Focusing on the effective tax rate, where usually ADRs aren't as favorable, is better.
