ADA went to $3 during the last run when it didn't even have smart contracts yet.
By now it has those and quite a bit more than during the beginning of its smart-contract hard fork.
I did only a tiny bit of development on it (just to get my toes wet, I am normally a webdev), but the dev experience with new languages you can use now like Aiken instead of Haskell is great for example.
It has DEXes, that let you do all the advanced stuff of a CEX (advanced orders, programmable algorithms)
You have interesting stuff like ISPOs (initial stake pool offering), which are especially popular during bullruns. (staking is pretty good in general since the protocol itself allows for all your funds to be liquid at all times without any counterparty risk, slashing, unbounding, etc.)
Also all the hacks and malicious contracts people know from Ethereum basically aren't a thing on Cardano. Transactions are deterministic and you only ever send/receive exactly what the transaction shows you. It either goes through as you see it when you approve the tx or nothing goes through at all. (due to the nature of how UTXO works, similar to Bitcoin)
For funding projects there are regular rounds of user voting every few months (Project Catalyst) where funds are granted from the treasury for approved proposals.
I am not nearly as in-depth in other chains... I just know the stark difference how Cardano was in 2021 and what it's like now.

Ive used Yoroi since 2020 and it was and is pretty simple to use. You drop your butthole coins in you pick what stakepool you want and thats it. It links on Nami fairly easily so if you want to shitcoin gamble on sundaeswap it makes it easy.
My only gripes is stakepool searching is kind of rough to navigate and when sundae was airdropping for staking on the designated pools they never airdropped into the wallet you had to collect it and all the other shitcoins they gave you
