People still don't understand how important AI is. Nvidia is the key to AI and AI is the key to absolutely everything. Everything in the entire economy is the product of human intelligence, now we can start tapping into machine intelligence. For our entire civilization we've struggled with human intelligence. The hardware is very limited, 20 watt brains, they have to fit in a 1200 cm3 box! These are hard caps that haven't changed in 10,000 years, there's negligible growth. Coordinating people is difficult, there are limits on speed, sleep and motivation.

Nvidia lets us out of this box to finally start exploring new territory. It's like running on wood+animals and discovering fossil fuels, this changes everything. Even if it's a little shit in some places (mostly due to corpo censorship) already realized capabilities are super promising.

shorting nvidea is free money. NVDS is a risk free double. its market cap is over amazon now tep kek

you're not completely wrong but mostly. AI is important. for some reason the market thinks nvidea has some kind of large advantage. they do not. if anything they are behind MS, apple, google, significantly and possibly even facebook. there's no reason all the other mega companies can't design and make their own chips partner with something like TSMC and put nvidea out of business.

is AI going to be important? yeah. is nvidea worth more than the entire GDP or germany, amazon, or google's ad revenue? no it's just tesla level hype which will settle to a reasonable valuation over the next year or 2 at 25-50% of its ATH

One is goyslop the other is boxes, both relly on cheap wagies and both will have their income sapped by NVDA as the forefront of AI.

NVDA do have a substantial head start. It's not so simple as company X putting out a tensor processor. NVDA's GPUs actually demonstrably work and have for years; they have a software ecosystem aka CUDA, CUDnn, Tensorflow and Torch support. You can't just build a piece of hardware and everybody switches to it, even if it's superior hardware. It takes years, potentially decades, for it to gain ground. You have to write the software, prove it all works and market it before anyone will buy it. So yes the big tech companies might make something that outshines current gen NVDA CPUs but it'll take years and NVDA will still be doing R&D in that time.
