There were 0 fees on Binance at crash times and lower price leads to higher volume in BTC.
Nowadays there are multiple exchanges and multiple pairs to trade BTC on. The amount of trading platforms increases yearly.
BTC / FDUSD on Binance has more volume than the USDT pair.
Overall the volume is about the same as in the second half of last run.
