57576124 No.57576124 [Reply] [Original]

Just saw a newfag from plebbit using the "miner cost" cope-argument for why BTC is not going down. Remember that one, the "but muh miners" argument? Yeah. A real classic. BTC would never go below 6k because muh miners.

Seeing that very same cope-argument being used yet again... Holy shit. Huge sell signal. They're now using "muh miners" for why BTC can't drop sub 20k, and even saying it's soon impossible for it to drop sub 35k.

Here are some hilarious examples from 2018.

Nothing is stopping BTC from dropping sub 20k and nothing is stopping it from pumping above 50k. The "muh miners" cope-argument is sheer nonsense at the end of the day regardless of whether BTC goes up or down from here, and it's only ever used by newfags and plebbitors.

Miner cost cope anon here, ill copy paste my answer:

>>57576031
>has no reading comprehension
The situation is different from 2017,as the miners required less resources and income to run in profit.
It is not different as they will go bankrupt if they don't make money from mining, and that line of zero profit is around 17-18k.
If miners die, someone will more money will buy them out and centralise them opening up a 51% attack vector.
It's that simple dimwit

Also nigger look at this post
>>57576006
This is the only pics you need to post, everything else is cope.

I'll add also, the price will never go under 35k ever again, as that's what mining cost basis will become in April.

Also the main reason bitcoin won't dump isn't the miners, that wasn't the topic you dishonest scum, simply we're in a bull run, nothing more simple than that, and the numbers reflect that.

>The situation is different from 2017
Nobody has said anything ITT about 2017. This thread is about people who used the miner cope in 2018 as a justification for why Bitcoin couldn't fall under $6000. So you might've meant 2018. Typos aside, your problem is that in 2018 people were using that exact same argument as you are now using; that the situation is different. People said in 2018 that the situation is different now compared to years ago, that years ago miners required less to stay in profit.

So not only are you today using the same tired old miner cope from 2018 to argue Bitcoin isn't falling under some specific price, but you're also using the same tired old backup cope of things now being different due to mining requiring more power.

It's all so repetitive and tiresome. Newfags never (not in 2018, not in 2024) understand mining difficulty adjusts itself as the price drops. It's not set in stone. Difficulty scales down hence the energy required is reduced. The lower the price falls, the more miners leave the pool. So the block is distributed amongst a lower number of miners so their profits are higher. The cost to mine adjusts itself after the price. They just hear "mining cost is at this or that price and that means btc can't go under this or that number" and parrot that narrative without having any understanding.

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the the production cost for most miners right now around 42k? If that’s the case, miners will start selling in this rally to cover cost and protect themselves heading into the halving. This is why I think we’re headed back to the 30k’s over the next few months, miners have to experience some pain surrounding the halving before the real rally starts

>> No.57576980

Is anyone holding mining stocks? I think its easier to get rich from this than BTC because with BTC you need to time the perfect top for a lame 3x, but with miners you have more margin

1. we already passed the "2018" part of the cycle, meaning, the crash following the ATH of 69k
it was a dump to 15k
2022 and early of 2023 as bottom

2. in 2018 we had a capitulation to 5k, but the bcash vs bsv mining wars took place, they dumped most of their BTC in this specific event in a fight for the BCH ticker
unless you have something of the same relative magnitude, things will not just happen because "it's the cycle"
you need a large sell volume to make lows

and there is no "miner bottom"
you can turn machines off to stay on par with profitability, and in turn the difficulty will come down, lowering your costs
miners do not decide price alone

Doesn't work that way. Mining cost does not dictate what price Bitcoin can go under. And the cost would fall anyway. Your entire post reeks of newfaggotry.
