Hey anon, you gotta look out for yourself at the end of the day. Bag aside I hope it works because a bridge to base as good as advertised will be awesome and it will have a reward structure to boot, that's just a great thing for crypto. Listen to the ama you fucking nimrod. They opted for a flat fee instead of using an Oracle. This lowers the gas fee of their bridge because instead of price gouging you based on how much you're bridging by using an Oracle to view token price, it's always the same fee.

Why would an oracle be needed for a bridge? Unless they are offering swaps between assets, there’s no reason to use an oracle. AVI to AVI, USDC to USDC… etc. oracle not needed

Oracles are used in a lot of bridges to see the value of what you are bridging and then charging you the fee in Ethereum based on it. Its refreshing to see a flat fee instead of a grift for new tech
