It doesn't require any trust at all because it's a completely decentralized, trustless, open source system, as crypto is meant to be. If your """"crypto""""currency is in the hands of one entity then it has already failed at being a cryptocurrency. The problem with Litecoin is that if people actually used it, it would be slow and expensive like Bitcoin, because it's just a BTC fork with some parameters changed, and doesn't actually solve Bitcoin's scalability issues. It's still infinitely better than centralized trash like Solana, though.

neither could AVAX. gas cost made it completely unusable. only one chain passed the inscriptions test, and that was ICP

>> No.57527930

>>57527209
litecoin is basically a backup chain to bitcoin where under normal circumstances you can send money cheaply,
its pretty fast for that. its actually useful and quite fungible, you can buy/sell it pretty much everywhere.

>> No.57528786

>>57527930
Litecoin is fast right now because it's not really used for much except facilitating transfers between different exchanges/coins.
It's still objectively not fast or scalable. It only supports 50 TPS and it takes over 2 minutes to get a single confirmation on your transactions. It ultimately suffers from the same scalability issues as bitcoin, where you can't significantly increase the throughput without running into security/centralization issues. So that's why it will never be more than just an intermediary for facilitating cross-exchnge transfers.

>> No.57529243

>>57529195
Validator numbers literally mean nothing. What matters are the entities behind them. One entity can run thousands of validators, or financially incentivise others to run them on their behalf (i.e. lido). This is why ethereum has a nakamoto coefficient of 2. Too many of their validators are economically tied together, and therefore are compromised. Same deal with bitcoin, 2 massive mining consortiums essentially control the whole network and could easily hardfork and cause chaos. You need to look deeper than take things at face value.
