Selling cash secured puts allows you to enter a position at a LOWER cost basis. If it dumps and you don't want to be assigned you can just buy to close and eat the loss. It's actually staggering how expensive fast food has become. I can go to the local diner and get a dull breakfast spread for the price of your average McDonald's breakfast meal now. I just stopped going to fast food joints. Hell, you can get a large pizza for less than a quarter pounder meal. They subsist on lazy parents that would rather phone it in and buy their kids the fat and salt brick that is fast food rather than cook something at home just to get the kids to shut the fuck up for 30 minutes. When I was a kid fast food was rare treat in my household on a weekend maybe twice a month. Some people eat that shit everyday now.

It’s crazy. I think right now they’re still pulling profits from people who rarely buy but still pay while telling themselves “Well, this is the last time,” higher-paid office workers and executives or unironically doctors, and people trapped in airports or on the road. An office I do work for has women who pull $60-$80k a month. There was always somebody wagging in with a Starbucks cup or you could smell somebody’s fast food breakfast or lunch. Well, not anymore. They’re all bringing their lunches now. That office kitchen now has an ice maker, a Keurig, a coffee pot, and they all bring in little creamers and such and seem to have fun making their own iced coffee concoctions. Again these aren’t wagies. These are ladies per capita (not household) pulling in by themselves above the average household income. I think companies like McDonalds will report profits now and throughout the summer but judging by the shorter lines I see when driving by and the altered purchasing habits of these “better off than many” women toward the end of the year they’re going to stagnate. Could even possibly fall short. Especially when you take into account the new wave of bad reputation- price. They took a hit during that Supersize Me bullshit but this whole “it’s all a rip off” buzz spreading like wildfire is going to shake confidence and hurt them.

South Africa is a bit risky as a jurisdiction for mining companies but I want to buy SBSW at some point in time this year to get some solid PGM exposure. Yes and no, it pumps all nominal prices proportional to their monetary impedance, equities are a very low impedance asset so will continue to see full inflation relative to monetary expansion, they can continue to increase relative to wages or housing, for example, as it's more difficult for money to flow into those assets than equities

Yep. Both on prescription from MD and distribution by the pharmacist. All they do is check their database, put in your numbers and problem, make sure no conflicts with anything else you take. Send you off. Wait to see if you come back with feedback or they do blood test, again compare those numbers against their data etc. Computer could do all of this easy.

Raw grocery ingredients have mostly come back down here in the midwest which is what makes fast food being triple the price it used to be so insane. They're just charging it because people are still paying it. Useless golems probably won't notice and will still complain because pre-packaged junk food, soda etc are still all insanely priced again because people will pay it. I kicked my habit of soda thanks to their price gouging as I will not pay $8 for a 12 pack. They are out of their minds with that. It's corn syrup, carmel dye, aluminum cans, and water. None of those items are up in price. The cheapest of the cheap walmart flour is still up in price as is seed oil notably but everything else is 'only' about 10% on average up from where it used to be.

I also kicked the soda habit. There was a brief aluminum shortage that made the cans more expensive (so they claimed) and not only did the prices not come down but they continued to climb. At first I was all, “Well, this is the one vice I allow myself. I’ve cut other things.” But then it just got plain insulting. I’ll pay for something but there comes a point where I feel like a fool for buying it.

I always buy from the 'about to start rotting' marked down bin so I hardly pay attention to the retail price of beef anyway.
