Fuck it. I wish I stayed a poor, single, alcoholic pot smoking retail wagie. I'd probably be happier.

Got tired of seeing my friends and peers doing things that I couldn't do. The straw that broke the camels back was my wife (then gf) wanted to go on a trip with her friends but she'd helped me make some payments on my car, so she didn't have the money. I decided to change careers and was stuck between healthcare and tech and chose tech because lower barrier of entry. So I got some certs ,started doing home lab stuff, and took some college courses. Got a basic help desk job, moved around, got a master's from WGU and some more advanced certs and got into sysadmin, now engineering.
Its not all bad. I can actually invest money now. I have a 401k. No debt other than student loans. My wife and I can actually go on vacations now. Kids have a small but continuously funded 529. I just wish I could have a house. Being almost 40 with no house is absolutely demoralizing.

you have noe idea what classical philosophy actually is.

There are about a dozen disciplines of philosophy, only two of them make man weaker(morality and law), and they are exactly what is taught as "philosophy" in modern western curriculum.
The other hidden disciplines make man stronger, they're probably what you think of as "primordial truth"

lel did you really think getting a masters before getting a tech job was a good choice?
you don't need a degree to work in tech you fucking idiot never mind a masters, they will hire you out of a coding bootcamp if not just off of the strength of personal projects alone

I'm exactly at where you were when you were 30. I'm 29 and left my old life behind last year. Doing tech in college now. Have my missus with me, and am at an entry-level job in the field already. I know reading your first post should demoralize me but you're actually inspiring.

Do it, you won't regret it. Get away from all the bad people, bad environments in your life, work on fixing your bad habits, and make some serious moves. Take risks, make the jump and don't look back. I promise it'll work. Follow your heart lil nigga.
