Question for the smarties-side of crypto. Are dAPIS worth investing in? Have they managed any substantial growth since 2020?

>> No.57491054

no, and no

>> No.57491080

looks like yesterday's pump is finally making the API3 crabs come back from underwater
idk the project always looked like a good progress for oracles overall because it solves the major OEV leakage of data but for some reason it never caught up to the hype

you're too late OP, there aren't any smart posters on /biz anymore, the good old days are long past, the ones that came in for the tech have already made it or created their own companies.

When a smart contract and an api communicate they use an oracle to solve the needed tasks right? well that oracle is almost always a third party that usually needs to bridge the information to properly use it, which costs extra money and time. Normally that all fine and good but the bridging of info and the thrid party needed for the oracle to work subjects the information to exploits, leakages, frontrunning, etc which costs extra money. dAPIs were created by the API3 project as a solution for that and is supposedly able to store, access and use the information in the API without the need for a third party or exposing the data to leaks, making it more secure

The main problem is this, adoption

if projects actually cared to implement API3 or any other flavor of superoracles that have been in development for years they would've done so already, the fact that they keep allowing the data and money leakages shows that they either dont care about 3 billion lost per year or are actually endorsing or taking advantage of it
>but muh link is superior
stfu the only reason why link has been updating recently is because even Sir Homosexual was embarassed during smartcon when their own investors were able to dissect his lies

Remember implementing oracles into the framework is not an easy task, let alone replacing them. There's a reason why API3 hasn't bled to death yet, there's still development to be done and massive-project adoption is still on the table

Centralised APIS are not an issue. Running an API on a blockchain is so inefficient. No one wants to wait 5 minutes for the data on a webpage to load properly.

All dAPI tokens are not needed.

>> No.57491439

>>57491355
Yeah, no, they actually are faster than third party nodes. API3 has its air node tech that basically outperformed other oracles in their tests. And PYTH has their proprietary nodes with the same results.
Saying its not needed is objectively not looking at the data

Why would any respectable Web2 company move their API onto a decentralised blockchain they do not have sovereignty over?
