I'm not a bobo I'm almost fully invested, just pointing out the obvious the market will get irrationally exuberant and the trend is unsustainable, without the FED transferring energy from workers and savers into the markets. It's a very simple proposition, the market isn't a perpetual motion machine, IT NEEDS the energy from workers and savers to sustain these valuations and the FED is the only institution that can transfer that energy.

I don't sidagree with the mechanism you're talking about. I do think however you're overstating it's power. rates didn't go from 0 to 20%, they went to 5% and now they're at 4%. historicla pe ratios can stay at 20 and above for rates at 4%.

yes the money supply is decreasing....but it increased by such magnitudes there is plenty of room to run, plenty of liquidity for markets to continue to be buoyant.

also this does not account for productivity, which means increases in economic growth with less money needed.

I don't think I'm hyperbolizing. I'm just simply pointing to the fact that without the FED doing QE this market trend is unsustainable. It could last for 12-18 months maybe more idk, but not being worried and rebalancing as the market goes higher and higher is pure ignorance. The whole system is overly financialized and dependent on ever increasing amounts of liquidity. Everyone from corporations to governments to consumers is up to their neck in debt, and without an expansion in liquidity it can only end in one way total liquidation (there is more principal and interest owed than there is money to pay it back due to the way money is created through loaning it into existence). Ever since the FED stopped QE we are seeing the cracks in the system show themselves from Chinese real estate developers to Swiss and American banks to commercial real estate etc... These trends because the way the system is structured without ever increasing liquidity the system liquidates. We are seeing these liquidations before our eyes.

earnings are based on consumer spending and employment. unemployment is historically low and spending has held up atleast until now, in addition earnings troughed a few quarters ago.

pe is based on money availability, sentiment, earnings consistency+momentum, and real yielding alternatives. we can easily stay at 20+ pe

if the thesis is money supply/availability is the index, does it not make sense that the index stays elevated as the money supply is still magnitudes higher than pre 2020

Unfortunately the commercial banking system cannot increase the money supply to perpetuity as interest rates rise and delinquencies rise they lend less and less. Until they start collapsing because of illiquidity and in the later stages of the liquidation because of insolvency.
