it doesn't make you happy but it gets rid of 90% of your stresses and pains in life. new stresses and pains will come to fill that gap but they're less stressful and worrisome so it's still better overall.

Happiness is fleeting. Money takes away most of life's bothersome worries though, so it sure helps to achieve a feeling similar to happiness more often. You're just more relaxed about things.

This isn't a guarantee though, getting to a large amount of money can increase the stress of an individual, especially if they were poor beforehand.

Just look at lottery winners, many of them experience true high chronic stress in their life only after getting all that money.

Those people are typically idiots and made it by dumb luck, then they tell all their idiot family and friends plus the media so everyone comes after them with their hands out. I’ve even seen stories where total strangers at gas stations recognize a lotto winner and start harassing them for money on the spot.
