/biz/ how is the job market where you are? I’ve noticed significant decreases in job listings for all professions, even wagie jobs. Starting to feel like 2008 again.

Aren’t those numbers based on people actively collecting unemployment? All im saying is the job market is more competitive than just a few months ago and most college grads in my area are going back to grad school.

i work for one of the mega banks. rumor is layoffs are coming. we've been on a hiring freeze for new positions for almost 9 months now. in the last few months they're not even replacing people who leave, just dumping the work on those who stay. what i'm seeing is not anywhere near as chipper and rosey as the picture the media is painting. I make average money, about 80k with bonus and everyone is struggling. hell im struggling. everything keeps going up in cost except my paycheck.
