Good question because I got a new job doing IT and most of the day is spent sitting around waiting for something to go wrong, when it does it's either an easy fix or I put in a phone call to get it fixed. This job pays over double of my last job at retail and it has a daily stipend when I'm on assignment.

My managers keep telling me to take my time and relax, stuff isn't due for months. I was so used to working to the bone in university, but office engineering work is so laid back. I am healthy, relaxed, and have time to socialize. I still get stuff done a month early because people keep changing what they want, though.

Yeah and your managers fill out a couple forms on the work you’ve done and then delegate a couple tasks, they have even less work.

Obviously some white collar people work very hard, but generally it seems the better your paycheck the easier the work is and the more people you have to do it for you.
