Leasing a car is an expense not an investment. Corporations do it for an easy write off. For the average consumer it is usually a very bad idea. Let's say your lease payment will be $485 a month. What if you just put that money right now into your current car? The problem really is you have no car repair skills. So you want the security of a new car.

Not sure how leasing works in other countries and I think there are different forms of leasing. I got unlucky on the 2 previous cars I owned and with the cost of ownership plus repair bills, I was basically paying the same amount as leasing a brand new car but was instead driving a 10 year old car. Have now been leasing for the past 4 years and will start a new lease contract on a new car soon. Tax, insurrance and repairs are all included in the monthly payments. Not having to worry about a thing is worth something imo. Does depend on the type of car you are leasing. Just go for a basic model. I pay € 325 a month for a 4 door car with 1.0 litre motor that gets good gas milege. It has everything you expect from a car in 2024 without breaking the bank.

If the service exists to lease a car then someone is making money out of you in order to do it. Otherwise the service wouldnt exist. It is why all loans exist. Usuary in order to profit from poor people who want nice things. These people who talk about getting 'good' deals on leasing cars are absolute morons who cant fathom the basic maths involved with working out your payments compared to that of owning a car. Its basically like renting a house vs buying one. Renting is always more expensive because the total rent is always the mortgage payment + profit. Leasing a car is the exact same thing except you're renting something that has a lot lower base value and has a lot more interest.

I'd normally understand the argument for renting a better car but I am utterly blackpilled on new vehicles with their DRM services, shitty plastic paneling, ECU firmware and infotainment system engineered by jeets, etc.

Leasing a car isn't an "investment". It's just another bill, like a utility. You pay x, and you have a car with no additional repair expenses like tires or brakes etc... If you own a business, it may or may not be profitable to write off the lease payment vs the mileage of a purchase, depending on how much you drive.
