Leasing a car is an expense not an investment. Corporations do it for an easy write off. For the average consumer it is usually a very bad idea. Let's say your lease payment will be $485 a month. What if you just put that money right now into your current car? The problem really is you have no car repair skills. So you want the security of a new car.

Just try to remember that they probably have like 100 bucks left in their account the day before payday. I know plenty of guys like you who see cars as a status symbol so I know that whatever I say, you'll go and lease that car anyway, but I really don't understand how anyone could care about a fucking car if their current one runs just fine.
Judging by your last post I guess it's a being-single-thing and maybe american too. I severely doubt that an old car is keeping your from getting laid though

Not sure how leasing works in other countries and I think there are different forms of leasing. I got unlucky on the 2 previous cars I owned and with the cost of ownership plus repair bills, I was basically paying the same amount as leasing a brand new car but was instead driving a 10 year old car. Have now been leasing for the past 4 years and will start a new lease contract on a new car soon. Tax, insurrance and repairs are all included in the monthly payments. Not having to worry about a thing is worth something imo. Does depend on the type of car you are leasing. Just go for a basic model. I pay € 325 a month for a 4 door car with 1.0 litre motor that gets good gas milege. It has everything you expect from a car in 2024 without breaking the bank.

If the service exists to lease a car then someone is making money out of you in order to do it. Otherwise the service wouldnt exist. It is why all loans exist. Usuary in order to profit from poor people who want nice things. These people who talk about getting 'good' deals on leasing cars are absolute morons who cant fathom the basic maths involved with working out your payments compared to that of owning a car. Its basically like renting a house vs buying one. Renting is always more expensive because the total rent is always the mortgage payment + profit. Leasing a car is the exact same thing except you're renting something that has a lot lower base value and has a lot more interest.

>bro its only 400 a month such a good deal!
yeah except you're paying off 400 per month for like 5 years as well as a 3k deposit payment + 10k balloon payment at the end of term. So you end up paying like 38k to own a 30k car. Have fun pissing away your expendable income.

I'd put the money into fixing up your shitbox instead and making it nice
Get some new wheels, tires, and shocks. Pull any dents. Get it detailed.
I'd normally understand the argument for renting a better car but I am utterly blackpilled on new vehicles with their DRM services, shitty plastic paneling, ECU firmware and infotainment system engineered by jeets, etc.
For the money you throw at 6 months on that lease you could have a really nice ride if you gave a shit about it. Just a thought

>> No.57420454

Leasing a car isn't an "investment". It's just another bill, like a utility. You pay x, and you have a car with no additional repair expenses like tires or brakes etc... If you own a business, it may or may not be profitable to write off the lease payment vs the mileage of a purchase, depending on how much you drive.

Exactly. Listen if you actually want to make it (be involved with wealthy people) you need to look the part. It doesn't matter what you're capable of doing. It matters who you know. And wealthy people will not associate with you if you're driving some 96 Toyota. Go all in on a nice car and watch your bank account soar

The other day I was walking to my car in the parking lot and another guy about 10 years older with about the same paycheck parked his newish GLK next to my 1999 Peugeot 206.
"You need to get something more fitting." " My house is payed off next January."

You can still get the equity out of a lease when the used market moves fren. I've done it several times myself. You just need to know what it's worth vs your buyout before you go to a dealership.

it is not an investment. it is a bill. like eating fast food. there is no way to make money "investing" in leasing a car, you can only lose money.

financially speaking you should drive the cheapest reliable shit box you can. saves on gas, insurance, and depreciation.

if you view your car as transportation and not a fashion statement, and are thus willing to drive it as long as it makes financial sense to maintain it instead of replacing it, you don't have to give half a rat's ass about depreciation; the car will be more or less worthless at resale long before it stops running.
