I was over at my dads house the other day helping with some household chores. He lives in a very rural area of a very red state. At the end of the day we went to one of the nearby country bars. It’s the kind of place that farmers, truckers, legit cowboy boot wearers and the working class go to unwind with a cold one.

President Biden was on the TV and the local gun store owner said to his auto mechanic (friends since high school),

“You know what? He ain’t so bad. The economy is recovering, nobody’s rioting, and we’re standing up on the world stage again. Can’t believe I’m saying this but Ol’ Scranton Joe’s got my vote this year.”

I looked around and all I saw were heads nodding in agreement. I heard a few calls of “Yes sir” and “Damn Straight” from the men around me. Even saw the lonely ball cap wearing farmer in the corner raise his drink with a nod.

Yeah because of inflation everything goes up

If you exclude everything important from the basket of measure

They stretched it and stretched it and stretched it.. i had to evict no fault just to get my critters out.. the state was working with the deadbeat tenants to delay.. they took forvever to process the apps for repayment so the tenants could goto court and say its “in progress” and drag it out as long as possible while the repayment people dragged their feet on purpose. Finally that bs is coming to an end feb

Yeah but that shit was a million years ago. Sometimes I go to sleep in terror thinking about how much time has passed since India became a superpower on January 1st 2020. Literally 4 years. And noggers lived for free for 4 years? No wonder rent costs are disgusting.

>Yeah because of inflation everything goes up
No the """experts""" keep reporting that REAL (inflation adjusted) wages are up, but the trick is that this is only true for the very top and bottoms
The high demand experts have gotten huge raises, as downsizing companies would rather pay up for experience than train or promote from within
the low end wagies have seen large percentage increases that sound great on paper, but going from 10-12 an hour up to 16-17 doesnt matter if they still can't afford shit
The middle wagies, depending on industry are losing to inflation unless they job hop or relocate, but also are experiencing all the layoffs
>If you exclude everything important from the basket of measure
and even then the measure doesn't capture anything of value, between data lags and the insane way they calculate housing the inflation measure is utterly broken
>14 million jobs created
pic related, nearly all job gains have been in a few industries, mostly healthcare, government workers (mostly teachers) and hospitality (burger flippers)

People will work you for a month and give you the boot. People working full time move jobs every 6-12 months. This is fucking crazy
