Imagine being the chick who does that. This is how my last job ended. They wanted to get rid of me for standing up for myself to a customer (verbally, without cursing, without name-calling), and she accused me of shoplifting (which I would never do, had never done, and knew they didn't have any evidence of). Oh, okay, we're going there. She implied if I played the corporate game, I could look forward to advancement with the company. "That's interesting. Do you have any information about rates of advancement within [company] for people of color? Because all of the workers in this store are black and all the managers are white, and you're white, and the leadership is white." She clammed up for a second. Later, I implied that the baseless accusations she'd leveled against me were racially-motivated, and suddenly she was talking about how horrible the day of the OJ verdict was for her.

Long story short, they paid me a settlement for an unrelated matter, but I don't think they put up a fight hoping that I wouldn't pursue this stuff further in exchange.

So, all this to say that these people are frigid cunts and that you shouldn't be afraid to play persecution Olympics to get them on their back foot.

Buying a business means buying all the baggage with it, and for those smaller businesses a lot of the time the reason why they even have a revenue base is because people know the guy or know of the guy who runs it, they specifically choose him because of how he’s treated his customers over the years (even if he may be a pinching tightwad elsewhere) or because he’s actually in the community, and coming in trying to șöýface these folk with retarded ideas like subscription plans will just drive them away, and even then odds are you’d lose at least a chunk of that base when they find out the old guy retired and some total outsider came in and just bought it out. And thats not even mentioning the workers who may only be there because they liked working for/with the older guy. If you’re going to be spending the kind of money to buy someone’s business you might as well get into the restaurant franchising game, since everyone will comsume that slop to their dying breath even if the heat death of the universe was to occur tomorrow morning. The last fucking thing anyone needs is blue collar companies acting like tech startups, that very idea is so cancerous I can feel the tumors in my pancreas already.
