Noticing quite a few of what I will term ‘narrative’ posts telling a story. Prefaced by phrases such as ‘I am not sellling / unstaking / giving up’

Often with an accompanying story of how long they have been holding or why they bought their first linkie etc. Something personal about life, job or family. To elicit empathy.

Regurgitation of age old snippets about % of link shorted, some or other historical price volatility. Key quote from someone.

‘I believe X, Y, Z.‘ or ‘It would be best to…’. ‘I think …’ ‘My thoughts on (insert sore point of our struggle)

‘We are removing all link from exchanges’. Or the innocuous innocent question which is actually bōllōcks ‘Why is this xxx’ or ‘How did that xxx’

There are a dozen permutations. Some are no doubt genuine, but my sense is more are plants written to board slide and are being paid for.

If true, what can we do?

Yes, I think you get it.
They usually come in talking about “I’m just asking questions”, or they say “I bought in 3 years ago and have 100k link”, while acting like that puts them above others like a higher authority. Same as when we had a flood of “I’m out of the loop” happening all at once.

They need to make sure people SEE the narrative they’re pushing, so if at first one doesn’t work or get a lot of traction, they try it again. The goal is for you to feel like you’re waiting forever, while all we have to do is stake.

When there’s not a lot of activity/posts on the board because people are zen, you see more shitty posts trying to make you question your investment, and try to bust up solidarity amongst the link marines to try and make you not trust anyone. That’s why there’s been huge campaigns against CCIP recently.

Divide and conquer is their only option. You’ll see similar tactics when companies are union busting.

Yes. You will recognize this pattern on multiple boards, /tv/ being one of the worst offenders. Some call it shilling or astroturphing. You find this behavior on other sites as well. Some companies actually do pay people to do this as an online marketing expense. Other times it’s a handful of people in a Discord fucking around. The behavior is easy to identify once you’ve seen enough of it. If you’re ever in doubt, wait and see if other anons call it out; you will see three very common responses to the callout if you are dealing with a shill:

>they will spam the thread in an attempt to drown out discussion
>they will stop replying (and make a new thread about an hour after that thread has died)

There isn’t anything to do about it other than to call them out or simply ignore them. All of the fud would be blown away in literally one second permanently if the price was sitting at 80 usd. If you take a few deep breaths and see that in 2017 and 2018 there wasn't a product and now link controls 90 percent of the oracle space (the other 10 percent being shit that gets exploited weekly) and that all the products are ticking along (yes it feels slow to us but I bet in the team they are actually working at breakneck speed for what they are doing) then you'll calm down.

It's fomo and it's opportunity cost sure but only in hindsight. If you're acting like solana is actually a token you'd trade half a million dollars in link for then be my guest but I'm not taking that level of risk.
