Go read whitepapers on this subject matter. If you're past 24, you are unironically too old to master new skills. You can still learn but you'll never be as good as someone who started when they were kids. Neuroplasticity dramatically starts plumetting past age 24 or so, making it incredibly hard to learn anything in the realms of art, math, science and languages. Again, you can be decent but never good. If you didn't make it before then there's no making it. Nobody starts a sport at 40 and gets to the Olympics. Nobody who's past 8 can speak a foreign language without a heavy accent.

the time it takes to learn any meaningful skill that makes money is really negligible. You can learn any trade skill within 3 years regardless of age and have a life changing skill. Natural skills such as forestry, woodworking, hunting etc all do not require thousands of hours, these are the only skills you actually need in life. What the fuck else would you even need to "learn"?

What "Skill" is so hard that you will never be proficient if you start after 25? Physical skills? Doubt, you can become an elite powerlifter even at 30+, likewise endurance runner. and when I say elite, I mean naturally you can literally become better than 99% of people within less than 1 year of training, with drugs is a different story

Was an engineer and at age 31 returned to college to study med and am now a Dr specialising. Neuroplasticity does decline very fast at around 24/25 but it just makes cresting new neural pathways more difficult not impossible, anyone is capable of learning at any age.
