God DAMN there is something that feels so comfy about collecting African treasure. My mom did a study program in South Africa as a teenager, grandma gave her fistfuls of cash and instructions to get as much diamonds and gold as she could on the cheap there. Glad I could make somebody smile. I just think it's important to remember that gold and silver aren't just a store of wealth against inflation and economic instability for ourselves, but for future generations as well. I know that my grandparents collected a good bit of gold and silver, passed it on to my parents, and now I'm hoping to do my bit to continue growing the family vault.
I can always play the stock market if I want to make numbers go up and try to get wealthier in the here and now, but collecting treasure (and having future generations to pass it down to) is, in my mind, a way to ensure a legacy.

Dunno how to answer that, coins were usually pretty nuggety for the first few centuries. If you want an affordable ancient silver that is very wide for its weight you should look into Sasanian Drachms like the one at upper right in pic. They're around 4 grams and thus quite thin, but their footprint is impressive and they can often be had for just $25-50 each.

The bull case for PMs is contingent upon the entire global economy to come screaching to a halt and the banks to stop money printing to plug holes in balance sheets. Buying PMs of credit and banking on the status quo breaking down imminentaly is a very dangerous bet. Once you get your PMs you should keep a cool head and not burn yourself with FOMO. I'm sure a lot of people can tell you they paid interest on a credit card for PMs or bought silver at massive premiums due to some news cycle only for PMs to drop from $26 down to $18 and premiums to just return to normal.

Find a bank or credit union that will do a secured credit-building loan with very low interest. I just use my calipers. The diameters have a pretty tight tolerance, variance is less than a hair (0.003" inches)
My worn morgan still measures the same diameter as a peace dollar, plus or minus 0.001" inches.
