You're describing depression and most likely loneliness anon. Hobbies are very important. For me, raiding on world of warcraft with the boys is the equivalent of boomers going to the bar with their friends. Yea, there are better games but sometimes it's fun to play a simple game on autopilot while hanging out with friends. It helps to relax. Not everything has to be a groundbreaking experience, sometimes it's best psychologically to do what's familiar and comfortable.

Just started making the first anti air gun.

Ramhaem had like 20 fighters and elephant dudes and we had the tech for mechanized infantry.

So I never got to see if I could beat the immortal ai up but it was a pretty position to do it from and then the game crashed

CIV 5 is the king. No game has provided me with so much consistent joy. I can always return to it and find some new way to play it and enjoy it. 13 years later and its holding up beautifully, I still see no game that could replace it yet. CIV 6 was a fucking atrocious disaster. Hopefully they learned their lesson with the next one coming out.

Realism invictus focuses on historical accuracy. i can recommend the world_map_huge scenario.
here are some of the features from the website:

they've been working on this mod from 2011 on up to the last release in 2021 i think.
i will never be able to enjoy another version of CIV because they always feel incomplete. there is something about a group of autists that keep on tweeking the mod until its kinda perfect.
my buddies and i would do a hot seat session once a year between christmas and new years for 7 days straight everyone different civs. we'd camp in my buddies parents basement living off all the leftover food from the holidays, christmas cookies and a lot of weed.
the game would be going on 24/7 where everyone got to do their "mouse duty". you'd have to do alliances just so you were able to sleep, because someone had to make sure your interests were pursued by who ever had mouse duty. in all those years we never reached anything beyond early stages of renaissance because 32bit systems couldn't handle the complexity of the maps and with 64 bit machines we would have 15 minutes inbetween rounds for the computer to calculate the npc moves.
