For example, people buying ETH right now when they could've gotten a 20% larger stack just 2 days ago. How do they rationalize getting a significantly smaller stack for the same price?

Apes don't think
They see and hear x is pumping
They go max leverage and moon and or get liquidated

Anyone who has been in crypto for long enough knows the feeling of having your old bags moon without you. It is insanely painful. When your old bags start to run fomo is natural. The mindfuck is that quite often fono is right.

This. The pain of holding for years and then seeing something you sold a few weeks before it started mega-mooned is one cause of fomo. As he said, sometimes it's actually the right call. I sold a giant 500k stack of LINK at 60 cents. If I fomo'd back in at 1 or 2 dollars it still would've worked out. Obviously buying lower is better, but sometimes you've got to buy momentum.

Alternatively, you can dca out, rotate profits gradually and not worry about fomoing back in

I ll tell you exactly. I sold my eth stack to btc at around 0.7... And it was no small amount, like north of 160 ETh. I was waiting to rotate back as soon as I saw some profits, but I knew the time was not right. Second of all, I just hate bitcoin, to be honest. For someone who has been working within the crypto industry for the past 8 years, its useless. Sorry, its only useful when I trade it to WBTC and use it for yield farming. Except that, it just sits there. This is cool for some time when everything is dumping, but the majority of the time it's just useless for me. That being said, I was waiting for the best possible opportunity to get back into Eth and I honestly thought that eth/btc was going to dunk further, but eth pump when btc should pump was a clear sign that MANY are having btc/eth on the trigger. My average buy is 0.051 with around 7 btc, and I would like to see eth/btc dumpin further in the coming weeks so I can rotate back everything. All in all, I really have long timeframes when I trade, and have a shitload of other things so I can stomach whatever temporary unrealized losses. Yesterday was a wonderful day for me and for the rest of the world. Few know it. Cheers!
