In the short term, maybe.
But technically, if we think KDA can be a ~500 B asset one day, KDA would have more upside. If you asked me which one of those project is more likely (compared to one another) to be running the whole of global defi, It'd be KDA.

I think you've been bagholding KDA for years and missed out on a bunch of other opportunities because you're married to your KDA bags. I remember seeing you post about kaspa like a year ago (I'm pretty sure it was you because it was a KDA shill who was also avatarfagging with anime girls). Holy shit imagine if you had just put $1000 into KAS or Alephium back then. You'd be up 5-6 figures right now. I bet you've been bagholding KDA since it was double digit dollars LMAO!

>Office worker Kiyoshi Adachi has gone 30 years of life without ever having his cherry popped. Due to this profound accomplishment, he becomes a wizard with the ability to read minds through physical contact. However, he thinks his newly attained skill is hopelessly lame and has caused him to dislike crowded places.
>On the way to his work, Adachi runs into his attractive and well-liked coworker, Yuuichi Kurosawa. Piqued by his personality, he furtively touches Kurosawa and takes a peek at his heart, only to find out that the man holds romantic dreams for a colleague at their office. Adachi attempts to connect the dots, but soon, Kurosawa's fantasies are laid bare—his coworker's perverted thoughts are meant for him! Despite doing his best to concentrate, he can now hardly remain focused with Kurosawa around.

Sadly, he was burnt out from the 2019-early 2021 period which was really hard on everyone. After we launched and we didn't see the results that we wanted from the IEO, and the token went to $0.06 at the bottom, we had to do a lot as a company to survive. We laid off half the team and went remote in early 2020 right before COVID hit, and it was largely Stuart, Will, and a ghost crew (including myself) for a while keeping the network running. Then, I switched to consulting and did my Haskell Foundation project for a year until it was stable.

Doug was part of that crew, and he took the brunt of the stress, maintaining Chainweaver, trying to hunt down funding, taking on internal operations, and marketing strategy and so on. It was a huge job! Sadly, I think the combination of lack of funding and the desire to really see Kadena succeed resulted in his burnout by the time late 2021 rolled around, when I came back and the token went up to $2 and then higher. Now, we're totally funded for years, have a huge team building out great solutions and genuinely interesting collabs (of which you'll see many drop in the next 12 months btw - we've been working extremely hard over the past year so that this year could be the one we release).

Anyway, at that point, I think it was already too late for him. When I came back, he was barely around and kind of down alot, and eventually he announced his leaving. Everyone at Kadena thinks the best of Doug, and it's really unfortunate what happened. I hope he comes back at some point when he heals from his burnout. We left on good terms, so the ball is largely in his court if and when he feels like he wants to come back.

Fufufufufu. Wait until next week. You'll see the first of a series of releases on that one. Pact Core is alive and near completion. Internally, we're working on optimizing it, but preliminary speedups show a 8-10x performance increase in the time needed to process contracts, as well as a significant reduction in memory usage, and an architecture that's amenable to (teasing a little here) maybe ffi's for zk circuit building and the like? I've been quiet because i've been WORKING TO GET THIS SHIT DONE.

Is the rumor that Pact Core will be EVM compatible true?
If so, does that mean Kadena isn't pushing the EVM unsafe narrative as much as before?
Or does it somehow maintain the security of pact by somehow allowing formal verification with EVM? IDK if that's even possible bc iirc Turing incompleteness is needed for formal verification.

Okay, so yes and no, but we're considering options in the EVM compat arena - everything from L2, publishing zk proofs of state through Pact Core and some initiatives we're exploring, to having an EVM-specific chain running an EVM interpreter, to having an EVM backend for Pact. We're not at a stage yet where we can speak concretely about any of these, but we *are* weighing this. In fact, we even have an EVM bridge that should be delivered first half of the year if all goes well.

Rest assured we're targeting solidity devs and EVM compat as a high priority.
