dividends are best when you don't like the psychological effect of seeing your number of shares decrease every year. Yeah you will realize less gains overall but that's just a number you don't even see so it has no psychological impact unless you let it.
Investing is so much to do with psychology at the end of the day, if dividends are the thing that make you stick with your strategy and you'd just be constantly buying and selling otherwise it's fine.

Uh ok. Buyback - Company has 2 billion shares outstanding. They issue a buyback plan. This means that 2 billion share count drops. So the value of your shares potentially goes up due to more demand for them/company performance. Reverse split (nasty thing) - You have 200 shares of a company. They do a reverse split. You now have 100. This is supposed to increase the stock price due to less shares issued. The reality; it means the company is in bad shape and no one is fooled, the stock price will still fall, so you get the shaft twice. First by losing half your shares. Again by seeing your investment tank. Forward split (Good thing) - You have 200 shares. Split happens. You now have 400. The stock price is cut in half to reflect the doubling of the outstanding shares. Which means you have an opportunity to buy more shares at the cheaper price if you wish.

With exception to black swan events, I actually disagree with this. The more time frames you work with, the more you see that everything is priced in. The more a stock/crypto is traded, the more reliable the information you are getting, thus the indicators that you use will give accurate reflections of market psychology. I will consider that. The overtime is only temporary because the job I work in is a bit cyclical. It's a very small business and everyone there is like family. I'm not forced to work 7 12's it's just one of those things that we know what needs to be done and we will do it together. I could decline and wouldn't be punished, but the management there is really amazing. The owner is probably the nicest guys i've ever met and has taken good care of me. We also get quarterly bonuses based on the performance of the business, so it's a motivating factor for working hard and sacrificing. I got hired in between quarters and I only worked there for 2 months and the owner gave me a $1k bonus. More businesses could learn from the company I work for. If you treat your employees well you don't have to force them to do anything, they will take care of you in return.
